Peak Tramway

The Peak Tram is a cable-hauled funicular railway operated by Peak Tramways Company Limited, from Garden Road at Central to The Peak. The Peak Tram service is accessible to most people with disabilities including wheelchair users. Public announcements for intermediate stations and the terminus are made inside the tram compartments. Display panels indicate stopping of trams at intermediate stations. An announcement and buzzer sound is made upon doors closing. Special facilities such as ramps, special access gates and call bells are available at platforms. Handrails are installed on the Upper Terminal boarding platform and there are yellow markings on the edges of all platforms. In addition, electronic information displays and audio announcements are provided as an aid to people with hearing and visual impairment. Staff are available to help with boarding and alighting for wheelchair users.
