Personalized Vehicle Registration Marks (PVRMs) Scheme

Applications accepted in January, May and September each year.

To provide more choices of vehicle registration marks to vehicle owners, the Government introduced a Personalized Vehicle Registration Marks (PVRMs) Scheme.  Under the Scheme, a vehicle owner can choose his/her preferred vehicle registration mark, apply to the Transport Department (TD) and use it upon approval following a bidding exercise. 

The applications for and allocation of personalized vehicle registration mark are subject to the Road Traffic (Registration and Licensing of Vehicles) Regulations, Cap. 374 sub. leg. E.  This web page aims to introduce what a personalized vehicle registration mark is, the business process from submission of application to auction of personalized vehicle registration mark and the points to note for applicants.  In the case of inconsistency, the Regulations shall prevail.

Applicants should read the guidance notes carefully before submitting applications.

Application Period for the 7th Invitation Exercise : Closed on 30 September 2008

(Note: The processing of applications for personalized vehicle registration marks  involves several stages and is taken by batches.  It would take about four to eight months for an application to complete the process and have the (approved) mark put for auction (from the deadline for applications of each exercise).)
