Traffic Diversion in Admiralty
Notice is hereby given that due to the permanent closure of the section of Lung Wui Road between Tim Wa Avenue and Tim Mei Avenue to facilitate the construction works of the Tamar Development Project, Tim Mei Avenue will be converted from one-way northbound to two-way traffic with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 11 February 2008.
To tie in with the above traffic diversion, bus route 373A on its journey from Wah Ming to Wan Chai will be diverted to operate via Tim Mei Avenue, Lung Wui Road, Fenwick Pier Street and Harbour Road before resuming its original routing. The bus stops for bus route 373A on Gloucester Road outside Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, and outside Immigration Tower will be relocated to Harbour Road outside Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre.
Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. Notices will be displayed by public transport operators to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
At the same time, the following sections of roads in Admiralty will be designated restricted zones from 7.00 a.m. to 7.00 p.m. daily:
with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 11 February 2008
(a) the southern kerbside lane of Lung Wui Road from its junction with Tim Mei Avenue to a point about 25 metres east of the same junction;
(b) the eastern kerbside lane of Tim Mei Avenue from its junction with Lung Wui Road to a point about 65 metres south of the same junction; and
(c) the eastern kerbside lane of Tim Wa Avenue from its junction with Lung Wui Road to a point about 50 metres south of the same junction; and
with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 19 February 2008
(d) the western kerbside lane of Tim Mei Avenue from its junction with Lung Wui Road to a point about 95 metres south of the same junction
Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:
(i) picking up or setting down passengers; or
(ii) loading or unloading goods.
The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate road markings.
