Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Sham Shui Po

For Construction Works of Cheung Lai Street Pedestrian Subway

               To facilitate the construction works of Cheung Lai Street pedestrian subway, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Sham Shui Po by stages from 10.00 a.m. on 2 June 2008 (Monday) to 30 September 2008 (Tuesday):-

Temporary Traffic Arrangements

(1)   The right-turn movement for all vehicles from Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound onto Tai Nan West Street northbound will be temporarily banned.

Affected vehicles on Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound heading for Tai Nan West Street northbound will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound, U-Turn at Butterfly Valley Road and Cheung Sha Wan Road eastbound.

(2)   The section of Tai Nan West Street between Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound and Cheung Yee Street will be temporarily converted to one-way northbound traffic. (i) The left-turn movement for all vehicles from Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound onto Tai Nan West Street southbound; and (ii) the right-turn movement for all vehicles from Cheung Shun Street onto Tai Nan West Street southbound will be temporarily banned.

Affected vehicles on Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound heading for Tai Nan West Street southbound will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound, Cheung Shun Street and Cheung Yue Street.

Affected vehicles on Cheung Shun Street heading for Tai Nan West Street southbound will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Yue Street.

        (3)   Only one lane at Cheung Lai Street between Cheung Shun Street and Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound will be open to traffic. The left-turn movement for all vehicles exceeding 7 metres in length from Cheung Shun Street onto Cheung Lai Street will be temporarily banned.

Affected vehicles on Cheung Shun Street heading for Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Shun Street and Tai Nan West Street northbound.

        (4)   All vehicles will be temporarily allowed to make left-turn movement from Tai Nan West Street northbound onto Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound.

(5)    Bus Only Lane will be temporaily set up at the slow lane of Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound between Tai Nan West Street and Cheung Lai Street.

Temporary Transport Arrangement

(1)      Kowloon Green Minibus Route 44A (Cheung Shun Street bound) will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Yee Street and Cheung Mou Street.

(2)      Kowloon Green Minibus Routes 44M (Stonecutters Island bound) and 44A (Hoi Lai Estate bound) will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Yue Street and Cheung Yee Street.

(3)      Kowloon Green Minibus Route 75 (Castle Peak Road bound) will be temporarily diverted via Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound, U-Turn at Butterfly Valley Road, Cheung Sha Wan Road eastbound and Tung Chau West Street.

(4)      KMB Routes 30 (Allway Gardens bounds) and 32 (Shek Wai Kok bound) will be temporarily diverted via Tai Nan West Street onto Cheung Sha Wan Road.

               Before the implementation of the above temporary traffic arrangements, appropriate temporary traffic signs and road markings will be provided on site to guide motorists. Public transport operators will post up notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
