Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for the Flag Raising Ceremony at Wan Chai North, Gymnastic Demonstration at Queen Elizabeth Stadium and Extravaganza of China Olympic Gold Medallists at the Advice is hereby given that the following traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on (i) Flag raising ceremony at (ii) Gymnastic demonstration held at Queen Elizabeth Stadium; and (iii) Extravaganza of China Olympic Gold Medallists held at Hong Kong Stadium. I. ROAD CLOSURES AND TRAFFIC DIVERSION
The following traffic arrangements will be implemented during the period of time specified below: Flag Raising Ceremony at A. From Road Closure Extravaganza of China Olympic Gold Medallists held at Hong Kong Stadium A. Traffic arrangements for the commencement of the Extravaganza The following arrangements will be implemented from about 1. Road closures (a) Caroline Hill Road between its eastern junction with Leighton Road and Cotton Path, except for vehicles to St. Paul's Hospital when the access from Tung Lo Wan Road is closed; and (b) 2. Traffic diversion (a) (b) (c) Traffic cones will be laid on a section of (d) Vehicles from (e) (f) Vehicles on (g) Vehicles leaving the Lee Garden must turn left onto (h) Depending on traffic situation, section of Lee Garden Road between Foo Ming Street and Lan Fong Road may be re-routed one-way northbound; traffic at Lan Fong Road must turn right and divert via Foo Ming Street and Percival Street; and (i) If circumstances required, vehicles on 3. Passenger alighting arrangements Coaches, taxis and private cars will be arranged to set down passengers at the locations specified below:
B. Traffic arrangements for the conclusion of the Extravaganza All or some of the following traffic arrangements may be implemented from about 1. Road closure (a) (b) Eastern (c) (d) Link Road northbound downhill will be closed if necessary, except for vehicles heading for Link Road No. 1A, 3, 5 and 7; and (e) 2. Traffic diversions (a) Vehicles from the SCAA car parks and the western exit of Electrical and Mechanical Services Department ("EMSD") workshop may be permitted to turn right onto (b) Vehicles from buildings on (c) Vehicles on (d) Vehicles will be banned from entering (e) If Leighton Road is closed, westbound traffic from Causeway Road will be directed onto Irving Street; eastbound traffic from Morrison Hill Road will be diverted via Canal Road West; southbound traffic from Percival Street must turn right onto Leighton Road westbound; and southbound traffic from Canal Road East will be banned from turning left onto Leighton Road; and (f) Only coaches and franchised buses of Route 117R will be allowed to enter the Stadium proximity via II. PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
Flag Raising Ceremony at A. Suspension of bus terminus The bus terminus at Extravaganza of China Olympic Gold Medallists held at Hong Kong Stadium A. Public transport arrangements for the commencement of the Extravaganza 1. Bus diversion 2. Green minibus and residents' service diversions On journeys to (a) Green minibus Route 5 will be diverted via Wong Nai Chung Road and Morrison Hill Road onto Tin Lok Lane before resuming its original routeing; and (b) Green minibus Routes 14M and 30, and Resident's Service Route HR 51 will be diverted via Wong Nai Chung Road, Morrison Hill Road, Leighton Road and Hysan Avenue onto Yun Ping Road before resuming their original routings. On journeys to Beverly Hill:- (a) When the section of B. Public transport arrangements for the conclusion of the Extravaganza 1. Additional bus service Cross Harbour Tunnel Recreation Route 117R (Hong Kong Stadium to Mongkok) will pick up passengers at Cotton Path outside St. Paul's Hospital and will depart when fully loaded or directed by the Police when the road is safe for traffic. 2. Green minibus diversions (a) Green minibus Route 14M on its journey to Moorsom Road will be diverted via Lee Garden Road, Foo Ming Street, Percival Street, Leighton Road, Wong Nai Chung Road and Broadwood Road before resuming its original routeing. (b) On journeys to (i) Green minibus Route 5 will be diverted via Wong Nai Chung Road and Morrison Hill Road onto Tin Lok Lane before resuming its original routeing; and (ii) Green minibus Routes 14M and 30, and Residents' Service Route HR51 will be diverted via Wong Nai Chung Road, Morrison Hill Road, Leighton Road and Hysan Avenue onto Yun Ping Road before resuming their original routings. In addition, when III. LEARNER DRIVER'S PROHIBITION
The following arrangements will be implemented from 1. Learner drivers will be prohibited from entering IV. SUSPENSION OF TAXI STAND AND PARKING SPACES

Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements specified above will be towed away by the Police without prior notice. VI. ENFORCEMENT
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists and notices will be put up by public transport operators to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. Road closures, traffic and public transport diversion will be adjusted by Police at the time depending on traffic conditions in the areas. Members of the public are advised to use public transport services and avoid driving to the affected areas. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in cases of traffic congestion, follow the instruction of the Police; and watch out for the latest traffic news through media. |
