Pedestrian Schemes for Causeway Bay
There are substantial commercial, retail and other economic activities in Causeway Bay. Insufficient road space to accommodate both vehicular traffic and pedestrians may result in traffic accidents. In order to improve the environment and safety for pedestrians, Transport Department has already implemented pedestrian schemes in the more crowded parts of Causeway Bay. These include:
(1) Full-time Pedestrian Street
The following full-time pedestrian streets have been implemented:

(2) Part-time Pedestrian Street
The following part-time pedestrian streets have been implemented daily between 4 p.m. and 12 midnight since June 2001.

Lockhart Road, East Point Road and Great George Street (between Cannon Street and Paterson Street) | |
On Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays, the part-time pedestrianisation of Lockhart Road, East Point Road and Great George Street (between Cannon Street and Paterson Street) operates from 12 noon to 12 midnight.
The streetscape beautification works for Lockhart Road and East Point Road (between Cannon Street and Great George Street) are scheduled to commence in mid 2007.
The part-time pedestrian scheme of Pak Sha Road and Lee Garden Road (between Kai Chiu Road and Pak Sha Road) has been implemented since June 2004. Since 24 October 2005, the closure hours have been changed to 7 p.m. to 12 midnight on Weekdays and 12 noon to 12 midnight on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
(3) Traffic Calming Street
The following traffic calming streets have been implemented :

Vehicle access is restricted to taxis only at Russell Street (in front of Time Square) from 12 noon to 12 midnight daily.
