Introduction

The Transport Department has launched the “Hong Kong eTransport” (HKeT) in 2009 to provide point-to-point public transport enquiry service on different platforms including mobile application version, desktop and mobile website versions. To facilitate locals and overseas visitors who do not have access to internet or mobile data to use the HKeT services, HKeT kiosks are installed at some strategic public transport interchanges, popular tourist attraction points and shopping centres in public housing estates, as a pilot service for public to enquire information on public transport services and real-time traffic information. Apart from this, there are needs by the public and travellers visiting the private premises, such as shopping centres, commercial buildings and hotels to enquire public transport services and real-time traffic information. To facilitate more people to use the Hong Kong eTransport Kiosk, the Transport Department will open the use of the respective kiosk software free of charge to the public. Operators of shopping malls, commercial buildings or hotels can install the kiosk software into their electronic information kiosks to provide an interactive enquiry service for their customers. As a pilot service, only application from local corporate users such as operators of shopping malls, commercial buildings or hotels in Hong Kong will be accepted.

Software Ownership

The Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region remains the owner of the HKeT Kiosk software at all times.

Packages Installation Requirements

Generally, the software package requires a Window based PC system with a touch-screen monitor and internet access capability. For detail requirement, please refer to the hardware and software requirement below.
