1. Starting from 20 October 2025, vehicles approved to participate in the Scheme will not be subject to the designated closed road restrictions and will not need to apply for Closed Road Permits ("CRP") for passing through the closed roads connecting the control points.  The application eligibility and other conditions of the scheme remain unchanged. Anyone who wishes to participate in the scheme is still required to submit applications in accordance with the scheme's requirements.

2. The Transport Bureau of Macao announced an update to the parking fee of the East Car Park of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge ("HZMB") Macao Frontier Post ("East Car Park") with effective from 1 May 2025. For light vehicles, the fee for parking durations of less than 12 hours is MOP $10 per hour or part thereof. A parking fee of 12 hours is charged for continuous parking between 12 and 24 hours, i.e. a flat fee of MOP $120 applies for a full day. If the parking duration exceeds 24 hours, the parking fee will be calculated based on a cumulative basis according to the aforementioned rates. Holders of valid Closed Road Permits for plying between Guangdong and Hong Kong or between Hong Kong and Macao or the eligibility for the designated cross-boundary driving schemes including Northbound Travel for Hong Kong Vehicles or "HZMB Macao Port Park-and-Ride Scheme" are required to pay the updated parking fees when using the East Car Park. DON'T OPERATE ILLEGAL CROSS- BOUNDARY HIRE CAR SERVICE

Pursuant to section 52(3) of the Road Traffic Ordinance (Cap. 374) ("the Ordinance"), no person shall drive or use a motor vehicle; or suffer or permit a motor vehicle to be driven or used, for the carriage of passengers for hire or reward unless the vehicle complies with certain conditions stipulated in the Ordinance (including that a hire car permit is in force for the vehicle). Otherwise, it is an offence.

Therefore, if a cross-boundary private car does not have a valid hire car permit, it cannot be driven or used for carriage of passengers for hire or reward. Otherwise, it is an offence.

Any person who contravenes section 52(3) of the Ordinance commits an offence and is liable on a first conviction to a maximum fine of HK$10,000 and imprisonment for 6 months; and on a subsequent conviction to a maximum fine of HK$25,000 and imprisonment for 12 months.

Moreover, in accordance with sections 90 to 93 of the Ordinance, if a person is convicted under section 52(3), the licence of his/her vehicle may be suspended for a period of 6 months on first offence; and a period of 12 months on subsequent offence in respect of the same vehicle. The vehicle concerned shall be delivered into the custody of Transport Department during the vehicle licence suspension period.
