The Transport Strategy Blueprint states that the Government is advancing the pilot adoption of autonomous vehicles in an orderly manner through regulatory innovation and technological planning, while effectively balancing considerations of technology development and public safety. To this end, a Autonomous Vehicle Applications Promotion Working Group (Working Group) , chaired by Commissioner for Transport, is established and comprises autonomous driving research scholars, information technology professionals, other experts and stakeholders, and representatives from relevant bureaux/departments. It will monitor the progress of various AV trials, oversee the trial and application of AV or vehicle-to-everything (V2X) initiatives, and strengthen publicity and public education to enhance public understanding of autonomous driving.
