TD launches website for free-flow tolling service

The Transport Department (TD) today (January 28) launched a website (www.ffts.hk) for the free-flow tolling service (FFTS) to enhance public understanding of the service and toll tags.

The FFTS is a new service that is planned to be rolled out at government tolled tunnels and the Tsing Sha Control Area to bring convenience to motorists. Under the FFTS, motorists can pay tunnel tolls with ease via remote means using toll tags without stopping or queueing up at toll booths. Such arrangements will make driving smoother and help improve the traffic conditions near the tunnels. In addition, the existing toll booths at the toll plazas will be demolished, freeing up space at toll plazas for other traffic-related purposes such as enhancement of existing bus stops.

The new website introduces the details and provides updates of the FFTS. Meanwhile, the TD is carrying out a public engagement exercise, including meetings with different stakeholders and exhibitions to be held shortly. Members of the public are welcome to visit the website and share their views.
