ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (Chapter 374)
SPEED LIMITS ON SLIP ROADS CONNECTING SHA TIN WAI ROAD, SHA TIN
In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 12 March 2010, the following road sections will be subjected to the following speed limits:
(i) 80 kilometres per hour
(a) the section of slip road of Sha Tin Road northbound leading to Sha Tin Wai Road from its junction with Sha Tin Road to a point about 65 metres north of the same junction; and
(b) the section of slip road of Sha Tin Road southbound leading from Sha Tin Wai Road from its junction with Sha Tin Road to a point about 40 metres north of the same junction.
(ii) 50 kilometres per hour
(a) the section of slip road of Sha Tin Road northbound leading to Sha Tin Wai Road from a point about 65 metres north of its junction with Sha Tin Road to its junction with Sha Tin Wai Road; and
(b) the section of slip road of Sha Tin Road southbound leading from Sha Tin Wai Road from a point about 40 metres north of its junction with Sha Tin Road to its junction with Sha Tin Wai Road; and
(c) the section of slip road of Sha Lek Highway southbound leading to Sha Tin Wai Road from its junction with Sha Tin Wai Road to a point about 160 metres north of the same junction.
At the same time, the existing speed limit of 70 kilometres per hour on the slip roads of Sha Tin Road connecting Sha Tin Wai Road as gazetted in G.N. 3228 dated 7 November 1984 and the existing speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour on the slip road linking Road T5 southbound with Sha Tin Wai Road southbound as gazetted in G.N. 2103 dated 26 June 1991 will be rescinded.
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.
