Extension of Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Blasting Works on

Anderson Road, Kwun Tong

 

                   Members of the public are advised that, in order to facilitate blasting works on Anderson Road, Kwun Tong, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will continue to be implemented intermittently from 2.00pm to 3.00pm, or from 4.00pm to 4.30pm daily (except Sundays and Public Holidays) from 24 March 2011 to 23 March 2012: - 

 

1.     Traffic Arrangements

1.1          The following road closure will be implemented from Mondays to Fridays:

•            The section of Sau Mau Ping Road between Po Lam Road and Sau Ming Road;
•            The section of the slow lane of Sau Mau Ping Road southbound between Shun On Road and Sau Ming Road;
•            Sau Fung Street; and
•            The section of Anderson Road from a point about 610 metres south of its junction with Clear Water Bay Road to a point about 1700 metres south of the same junction.

1.2         Vehicles on Sau Mau Ping Road southbound heading for Po Tat Estate and Tseung Kwan O will be diverted via Sau Ming Road, Hiu Kwong Street, Sau Mau Ping Road and then Po Lam Road.  Vehicles on Sau Mau Ping Road northbound heading for Sze Shun area will be diverted via Hiu Kwong Street and then Hip Wo Street;

1.3         Vehicles on Sau Ming Road northbound will be banned from making right turning onto Sau Mau Ping Road southbound. Vehicles heading for Po Tat Estate and Tseung Kwan O may be diverted via Sau Mau Ping Road northbound, Hip Wo Street, Hiu Kwong Street, Sau Mau Ping Road and then Po Lam Road;

1.4         Vehicles on Sau Ming Road northbound near Sau Mau Ping (Central) Bus Terminus heading for Po Tat Estate and Tseung Kwan O may be diverted via Sau Ming Road roundabout near Road Safety Town, Sau Ming Road southbound, Hiu Kwong Street and then Sau Mau Ping Road; and

1.5         Vehicles on Po Lam Road westbound will be banned from making right turning onto Sau Mau Ping Road northbound. Vehicles heading for Sze Shun area may be diverted via Sau Mau Ping Road southbound, Hiu Kwong Street and then Hip Wo Street.

1.6         The following road closure will be implemented on Saturdays:

•            The section of Anderson Road from a point about 610 metres south of its junction with Clear Water Bay Road to a point about 1700 metres south of the same junction.

2.     Public Transport Arrangements

Bus and GMB routes will maintain their existing routings. The journey time of the following public transport services in Sau Mau Ping may be lengthened due to the traffic condition: -

                              KMB Route Nos. 13D, 13M, 13X and Cross Harbour Route No. 601

2.2                         Bus Routes to/ from Tseung Kwan O

                              KMB Route Nos. 93A, 93K, 93M, 95, 95M, 98A and 98C

2.3                         Bus Routes to/ from Sau Mau Ping (Upper) Bus Terminus

                              KMB Route Nos. 11C and 11X

2.4                         Bus Routes to/ from Sze Shan Areas

                              KMB Route Nos. 23, 23M and 26M and Cross Harbour Route No. 619

2.5                         New Territories Green Minibus Routes to/from Tseung Kwan O

                              Route Nos. 12, 13, 17, 106 and 111

2.6                          Kowloon Green Minibus Routes to/ from United Christian Hospital

                               Route Nos. 76A and 76B

2.7                          Kowloon Green Minibus Routes to/ from Po Tat Estate/ Sau Mau Ping Estate

                               Route Nos. 71A and 71B

2.8                          Kowloon Green Minibus Route to/ from Shun Lee

Attention and Appeal

Depending on the prevailing circumstance, other ad-hoc traffic and public transport measures including further closure of roads, traffic diversions and alternations of public transport services may be adopted by the Police at short notice.  Motorists are advised to drive with utmost care and patience, and follow the instructions given by the Police.

 

                  Appropriate traffic signs had been erected on-site to guide motorists.
