Temporary Closure of Tolo Highway southbound between Chak Cheung Street

and Sha Tin Racecourse

Motorists are advised that in order to facilitate the erection of speed map panel gantry on Tolo Highway southbound near Sha Tin Racecourse, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented:

(I)    Lane Closure

Two traffic lanes of Tolo Highway southbound between Hong Kong Science Park and Tai Po Road (Sha Tin) near Sha Tin Racecourse will be temporarily closed from 11.30 pm on 3 November 2011 to 5.15 am on 4 November 2011.

(II)   Road Closure

The section of Tolo Highway southbound between Chak Cheung Street and Tai Po Road (Sha Tin) near Sha Tin Racecourse will be temporarily closed from 1.15 am to 5.15 am on 4 November 2011. 

(III)  Traffic Diversion

During the above road closure, vehicles on Tolo Highway southbound will be diverted as follows:

(a)    vehicles heading for Tai Po Road (Sha Tin) or Yuen Wo Road will be diverted to travel via Tate's Cairn Highway southbound, Shek Mun Interchange, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound and Fo Tan Road westbound;

(b)    vehicles heading for Lion Rock Tunnel will be diverted to travel via Tate's Cairn Highway southbound, Sha Lek Highway southbound, Sha Tin Road southbound and Lion Rock Tunnel Road southbound; and

(c)    vehicles heading for Sha Tin Racecourse will be diverted to travel via slip road, Chak Cheung Street southbound and Sui Cheung Street southbound.

(IV)  Public Transport Arrangement

During the above road closure, the following bus and GMB routes will be temporarily diverted as follows:

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to drive with utmost care and patience.
