TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for St. Anthony's Church Evangelization Procession and Meeting

        Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Western District on 20 November 2011 (Sunday) in connection with the holding of St. Anthony's Church Evangelization Procession and Meeting:

 (A)   Road Closure (Refer to Figure 1)

The following sections of roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic during the period as specified below:

The section of Queen's Road West between Belcher's Street and Praya, Kennedy Town.

(i)    The section of Queen's Road West between Hill Road and Belcher's Street;

(ii)   The section of Belcher's Street between Queen's Road West and Collinson Street; and

The section of Hill Road between Pok Fu Lam Road and Queen's Road West.

(B)   Traffic Diversion

1.  From 9.00 am to 1.30 pm

Vehicles on Queen's Road West east of Hill Road heading for Praya, Kennedy Town westbound will be prohibited and diverted to Belcher's Street.

2.  From 1.30 pm to 5.00 pm    

3.  From 2.45 pm to 3.30 pm

(i)   Vehicles on Bonham Road westbound heading for Hill Road will be prohibited from making left turn onto Hill Road and diverted to Third Street; and

(ii)  Vehicles on Pokfulam Road westbound heading for Hill Road will be prohibited from making right turn onto Hill Road and diverted to Third Street.

(C)   Bus and Green Minibus Diversions

From 1.30 pm to 5.00 pm

 (D)   Suspension of Metered Parking Spaces and Motorcycle Parking Spaces

 All metered parking spaces and motorcycle parking spaces on Hill Road will be suspended from 11.00 am to 5.00 pm.

 (E)   Removal of Illegally Parked Vehicles

 Any vehicles found illegally parked within the precinct of the special traffic arrangements as specified above will be towed away by the Police without prior notice.

(F)   Implementation

Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists and notices will be displayed by the bus companies and green minibus operators to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. Road closure, traffic diversion and suspension of parking spaces will be adjusted by the Police officers on site depending on the actual traffic conditions in the affected areas.
