Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Pok Oi Charity Walk 2011 in Yuen Long
Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Yuen Long to facilitate the holding of Pok Oi Charity Walk 2011 on 4 December 2011 (Sunday):

(A) |
Road Closure
The following sections of roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 8.00 am until the end of the event: |

(1) |
Kiu Hing Road from its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to its junction with the access road leading to Tin Liu Tsuen; |
|
(2) |
Sham Chung Road from a point about 120 metres west of its junction with Tai Tong Road to a point about 580 metres west of the same junction; |
|
(3) |
Shui Tsiu San Tsuen Road from a point about 450 metres north of its junction with Kiu Hing Road to a point about 1750 metres north of the same junction; and |
|
(4) |
The unnamed access road connecting Tai Tong Road (near Ka Fat Garden) and Shui Tsiu San Tsuen Road. |

(B) |
Traffic Diversion
The following traffic diversions will be implemented from 8.00 am until the end of the event: |

(1) |
Kung Um Road from its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 100 metres south of the same junction will be converted from one-way northbound to two-way traffic; and |
|
(2) |
Kiu Hing Road between Tai Tong Shan Road and Tai Tong Road will be converted from dual two-lane to one-lane two-way traffic. |

During period of road closure, motorists on the section of Kiu Hing Road near Tin Liu Tsuen travelling to/from Yuen Long town are advised to travel via Kung Um Road. |

Public Transport Services Arrangement |

During period of road closure, GMB Route Nos. 39 (Kung Um – Yuen Long (Fung Cheung Road)) and 39A (Kung Um Road (Muk Kiu Tau) - Yuen Long (Fung Cheung Road)) will be re-routed to operate via the section of Kung Um Road near La Grove in lieu of the section of Kiu Hing Road near Ma Tin Pok, before resuming their normal routeings to Kung Um. |

Attention and Appeal |

Appropriate temporary traffic signage will be provided on site to guide motorists. The implementation time of the aforesaid arrangements may be changed depending on the traffic situation on that day. Motorists are urged to observe the instruction of the Police on site. Advance notices will be posted up by the GMB operator at terminal points and inside vehicle compartment to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements. |
