Traffic Advice
Temporary traffic and transport arrangements in Admiralty
Members of the public are advised that in connection with the construction of MTRCL South Island Line (East), the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Admiralty from 12.45 a.m. to 5.45 a.m. daily during the period from 18 to 20 June 2012:
A. Traffic Arrangements
I. Road Closure
The slow lane of Harcourt Road westbound between the egress of Admiralty Car Park and Rodney Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
II. Traffic Diversions
1. The section of Rodney Street north of the egress of Admiralty MTR Station (East) Bus Terminus will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way northbound.
2. Vehicles from Harcourt Road westbound heading for Queensway eastbound, Tamar Street, Rodney Street or Drake Street will be diverted to travel via Harcourt Road westbound, Murray Road, Queensway eastbound, Tamar Street, Rodney Street or Drake Street.
B. Public Transport Arrangements:
I. Bus and GMB Route Diversions
1. Cross Harbour Route N691 from Gloucester Road service road heading for Central will be diverted to travel via Fenwick Street southbound, Hennessy Road westbound, Queensway westbound, Queen’s Road Central westbound and Pedder Street before resuming its normal routeing on Connaught Road Central westbound.
2. GMB Route 31 from Lockhart Road westbound heading for Pok Fu Lam will be diverted to travel via Fenwick Street southbound, Hennessy Road westbound and Queensway westbound before resuming its normal routeing on Cotton Tree Drive northbound.
II. Bus and GMB Stops Arrangements
1. The bus stops for Cross Harbour Route N691 on Harcourt Road outside Admiralty Centre and Connaught Road Central outside Statue Square will be relocated to Queensway outside Pacific Place and Queen’s Road Central outside Cheung Kong Centre respectively.
2. The GMB stop for GMB Route 31 on Drake Street outside Admiralty Centre will be relocated to Queensway outside High Court.
Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices at the stops and inside vehicle compartments of the affected routes to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
