TRAFFIC ADVICE

Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Sha Tin for the Holding of Cycling Race

       Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Sha Tin to facilitate the holding of cycling race on 23 September 2012:-

(I)  SPECIAL TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS

(A) Road Closures

    The following road sections will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 4.00 am to 1.00 pm:

• (i) the section of Yuen Wo Road westbound between Sha Tin Rural Committee Road and Fo Tan Road;

• (ii) the section of Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound between Yuen Wo Road and Tai Chung Kiu Road;

• (iii) the section of Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound between Sha Tin Rural Committee Road and Fo Tan Road; and

• (iv) the section of Fo Tan Road northbound between Yuen Wo Road and Tai Chung Kiu Road.

(B)  Traffic Diversions

    In connection with the above closure of roads, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:

• (i) During the closure of the section of Yuen Wo Road westbound between Sha Tin Rural Committee Road and Fo Tan Road, motorists on Yuen Wo Road westbound or Fo Tan Road southbound heading for Sha Tin Central are advised to travel via Tai Po Road westbound or Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound;
• (ii) During the closure of the section of Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound between Yuen Wo Road and Tai Chung Kiu Road, motorists on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound or Yuen Wo Road eastbound heading for Tai Chung Kiu Road/ Sha Tin Wai Road are advised to travel via Fo Tan Road southbound;
• (iii) During the closure of the section of Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound between Sha Tin Rural Committee Road and Fo Tan Road, motorists on Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound heading for Ma On Shan /City One Shatin / Kwong Yuen areas are advised to travel via Sha Tin Wai Road or Yuen Wo Road eastbound; and
• (iv) During the closure of the section of Fo Tan Road northbound between Yuen Wo Road and Tai Chung Kiu Road, motorists on Sha Tin Road/ Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound heading for Fo Tan Road/ Yuen Wo Road are advised to travel via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road northbound.

(II)   PUBLIC TRANSPORT SERVICES ARRANGEMENTS

(A)   Bus and Green Minibus ("GMB") Route Diversion

(i)    During the closure of Yuen Wo Road westbound and Fo Tan Road northbound:

• (a) KMB80M (Kowloon Tong bound), 85 (Kowloon City bound), 88K (Hin Keng bound) and GMB 60K (Sha Tin Station bound), 62K (Sha Tin Station bound) on Fo Tan Road southbound; and KMB N270 (Sha Tin bound), N271 (Hunghom bound) on Tai Po Road westbound will be re-routed to operate via Tai Po Road westbound before resuming their normal routeings;
• (b) KMB 48X (Tsuen Wan bound), 81 (Jordan bound), 89 (Kwun Tong bound) and 269D (Tin Shui Wai bound) on Wo Che Street will be re-routed to operate via Yuen Wo Road eastbound, Fo Tan Road northbound, Tai Po Road westbound before resuming their normal routeings;
• (c) KMB 72 (Cheung Sha Wan bound) on Tai Po Road westbound will be re-routed to operate via Tai Po Road westbound, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Tam Kon Po Street before resuming their normal routeings;
• (d) KMB 81K (Sun Tin Wai bound) on Fo Tan Road southbound will be re-routed to operate via Tai Po Road westbound, Sha Tin Central Bus Terminus, Wang Pok Street, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Tai Po Road westbound, Lion Rock Tunnel Road, Tai Chung Kiu Road before resuming its normal routeing;
• (e) GMB 61S (Mongkok bound) on Tak Hau Street will be re-routed to operate via Yuen Wo Road eastbound, Fo Tan Road southbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound before resuming its normal routeing;
• (f) GMB 65K, 801, 811, 811A and 811S (Fo Tan bound) on Tai Chung Kiu Road will be re-routed to operate via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road northbound and Yuen Wo Road eastbound before resuming their normal routeings;
• (g) GMB501S (Kwun Tong bound) on Tai Po Road will be re-routed to operate via Fo Tan Road southbound and Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound before resuming its normal routeing; and
• (h) KMB 40X (Kwai Chung bound), 43X (Tsuen Wan bound), 85K (Sha Tin Central bound), Airport bus A41P (Airport bound) and GMB 810 (Sha Tin Central bound) on A Kung Kok Street westbound; KMB 72A (Tai Wai bound) on Fo Tan Road southbound; and KMB 73A (Choi Yuen bound), 80K (Sun Chui bound) and 86 (Mei Foo bound) will be re-routed to operate via Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road before resuming their normal routeings.

(ii)   During the closure of Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound:

• (a) KMB 49X (Kwong Yuen bound), 284 (Ravana Garden bound), KMB 299 (Sai Kung bound) and GMB 65A (Wong Nai Tau bound) on Yuen Wo Road eastbound; and GMB 67K (A Kung Kok bound) and GMB 67A (Shek Mun bound) on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound will be re-routed to operate via Yuen Wo Road eastbound, Fo Tan Road southbound before resuming their normal routeings;
• (b) Airport bus E42 (Pok Hong bound) and Cross Harbour Route N170 (Wah Fu bound) from Sha Tin Central Bus Terminus will be re-routed to operate via Pak Hok Ting Street, Lion Rock Tunnel Road, Tai Chung Kiu Road before resuming its normal routeing;
• (c) Cross Harbour Route 170 (Wah Fu bound) on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound will be re-routed to operate via Tai Po Road eastbound, Fo Tan Road southbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound before resuming its normal routeing;
• (d) KMB 47X (Chun Shek bound) from Sha Tin Central Bus Terminus will be re-routed to operate via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road northbound, Tai Po Road westbound, Lion Rock Tunnel Road, Tai Chung Kiu Road before resuming their normal routeings;
• (e) NWFB 798 (Tiu Keng Leng bound) on Wang Pok Street will be re-routed to operate via Yuen Wo Road eastbound, Fo Tan Road southbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound before resuming its normal routeing; and
• (f) GMB 809K (Shui Chuen Au Street bound) on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound will be re-routed to operate via Yuen Wo Road eastbound, Fo Tan Road southbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound before resuming its normal routeing.

(iii) During the closure of Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound:

• (a) KMB 74A (Tai Po bound) and GMB 803 (Lee On bound), 804 (Kwong Yuen bound) on Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound will be re-routed to operate via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road northbound, Yuen Wo Road eastbound before resuming their normal routeings;
• (b) KMB 86K (Kam Ying Court bound) and 89X (Kwun Tong bound) on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound will be re-routed to operate via Tai Po Road eastbound and Fo Tan Road southbound before resuming their normal routeings;
• (c) KMB 81C (Yiu On bound), 86C (Lee On bound), Airport bus A41 (Yu Chiu Court bound) and GMB 65S (Wong Nai Tau bound) on Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound will be re-routed to operate via Sha Tin Wai Road southbound, Sha Tin Road, Tai Chung Kiu Road before resuming their normal routeings; and
• (d) KMB 82M (Kwong Yuen bound), 85A (Yu Chiu Court bound), Cross Harbour Route 182 (Yu Chiu Court bound), N182 (Kwong Yuen bound) and N281 (Kam Ying Court bound) on Sha Kok Street eastbbound will be re-routed to operate via Sha Tin Wai Road southbound and Sha Tin Road before resuming their normal routeings.

(B)  Suspension of Bus and GMB Stops

(i)     During the period of the closure of Yuen Wo Road westbound, the following bus and GMB stops will be suspended:

• (a)    the stop on Yuen Wo Road westbound outside Sha Tin Sports Ground for KMB routes 40X, 72, 72A, 80K, 80M, 81K, 85, 85K, 86, 88K, N270, and N271; and GMB routes 60K, 62K and 810; and
• (b)    the stop on Yuen Wo Road westbound outside Sha Tin Jockey Club Swimming Pool for KMB routes 40X, 48X, 72, 72A, 80K, 80M, 81, 81K ,85, 85K, 86, 88K, 89, 269D, N270, N271 and GMB routes 60K, 61S, 62K and 810.

(ii)   During the period of the closure of Sha Tin Rural Committee Road southbound, the following bus and GMB stops will be suspended:

• (a)    the stop on Wang Pok Street outside Lucky Plaza for Airport bus E42.

(iii)   During the period of the closure of Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound, the following bus and GMB stops will be suspended:

• (a)    the stop on Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound opposite Rivera Garden for KMB routes 49X, 74A, 81C, 82M, 85A, 86C, 86K, 89X, 284, 299 and N281; Cross Harbour routes 182 and N182, Airport bus A41 and GMB routes 67A, 67K, 803, 804 and 809K; and
• (b)    the stop on Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound opposite to Belair Gardens for KMB routes 49X, 74A, 81C, 82M, 85A, 86C, 86K, 89X, 284, 299 and N281,Cross Harbour routes 182 and N182, Airport bus A41 and GMB routes 67A, 67K, 803 and 804.

(C)    Provision of Temporary Bus and GMB Stops

     During the period of the above road closure, the following temporary bus and GMB stops will be provided:

• (i)   two temporary stops will be provided for KMB routes 49X, 74A , 284 and 299 on Yuen Wo Road eastbound outside Baptist Lui Ming Choi Secondary School and Wo Che Shopping Centre during the closure of Tai Chung Kiu Road eastbound;
• (ii)   two temporary stops will be provided for KMB routes 40X, 72A, 80K, 85K, 86 and GMB route 810 on Tai Chung Kiu Road westbound outside Belair Gardens and Rivera Garden during the closure of Yuen Wo Road westbound;
• (iii)   a temporary stop will be provided for Airport bus A41 on Sha Tin Wai Road southbound outside Greenfield Court; and
• (iv)   a temporary stop will be provided for KMB routes 81C, 82M, 85A, 86C, N281: and Cross Harbour routes 182 and N182 on Sha Tin Wai Road outside Shatin Park.

     Actual implementation of the road closure, traffic control and public transport diversions will be made by police officers on site at the time depending ofn the traffic and crowd condition.  Appropriate traffic signs will be provided and police officers will be stationed on site to guide public.  Bus companies and Green Minibus operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above special public transport arrangements.
