TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE

TEMPORARY TRAFFIC AND TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS
IN HUNG HOM

      Notice is hereby given that in connection with the construction of Kwun Tong Line Extension, temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Hung Hom from 01:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m. on 1 June 2014.  Details are as follows:

(I) Temporary Road Closure

(A) During 01:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m., Winslow Street Underpass and Chatham Road North Underpass will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.

(B) During 02:00 a.m. to 05:30 a.m., the section of Chatham Road North (northbound) between Yan Fung Street and Valley Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic.

(C) During 01:00 a.m. to 06:00 a.m., traffic lanes of the following section of roads will be partially closed in accordance with the works progress:
- Gascoigne Road (eastbound) near its junction with Chatham Road South,
- Chatham Road South (northbound) between its junction with Gascoigne Road and its junction with Chatham Road North,
- Chatham Road North (northbound) between its junction with Chatham Road South and Valley Road, and,
- Hong Chong Road (northbound) outside Hong Kong Polytechnic University and the slip road leading to Chatham Road North (northbound).

(II) Temporary Traffic Diversions

(A) During the full closure of Winslow Street Underpass and Chatham Road North Underpass, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:

(i) Vehicle on Winslow Street (westbound) heading for Chatham Road North (northbound) will be diverted via Cheong Hang Road, Gillies Avenue South (northbound), Wuhu Street (eastbound), Ma Tau Wai Road (northbound), Fat Kwong Street (westbound), Shun Yung Street (northbound), Pak Kung Street (eastbound) and Chatham Road North (northbound).

(ii) Vehicles on Chatham Road North (northbound) heading for Hung Hom area will be diverted via Pak Kung Street (westbound), Shun Yung Street (southbound), Fat Kwong Street (eastbound), Wo Chung Street, Chatham Road North (southbound) and Wuhu Street (eastbound).

(B) During the full closure of the section of Chatham Road North (northbound) between Yan Fung Street and Valley Road, the following traffic diversions will be implemented:

(i) Vehicles on Chatham Road North (northbound) heading for Ma Tau Wai area will be diverted via Yan Fung Street, Fat Kwong Street (westbound), Chung Hau Street (southbound), Fat Kwong Street (eastbound), Shun Yung Street (northbound), Pak Kung Street (eastbound) and Chatham Road North (northbound).

(III) Public Transport Arrangements

During the full closure of Chatham Road North Underpass and the section of Chatham Road North (northbound) between Yan Fung Street and Valley Road, the following public transport arrangements will be implemented:

via Chatham Road South (northbound), Cheung Wan Road (eastbound), On Wan Road, Cheung Wan Road (northbound), Gillies Avenue South (northbound), Wuhu Street (eastbound), Ma Tau Wai Road (northbound), Fat Kwong Street (westbound), Shun Yung Street (northbound), Pak Kung Street (eastbound), Chatham Road North (northbound), Ma Tau Wai Road (northbound), Prince Edward Road East (northbound), Kwun Tong Road (southbound) and Kai Cheung Road (westbound) before resuming its normal routing on Wang Kwong Road,

(B) Bus stops arrangement

The stop of Cross Harbour Route N121 at Valley Road will be temporary suspended.

      Actual implementation of the traffic arrangement and traffic control will be made by the police depending on the traffic condition in the area.  Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, and observe the instructions given by the police.  The bus companies will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangement.
