ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)
RESTRICTED ZONES AT DISCOVERY BAY, LANTAU ISLAND
In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 26 October 2014, the following road sections in Discovery Bay, Lantau Island will be designated restricted zones 24 hours daily:—
(1) The northbound carriageway of Siena Avenue from a point about 75 metres south of the roundabout next to Discovery Bay Community Hall to a point about 235 metres south of the same roundabout;
(2) The northbound carriageway of Siena Avenue from a point about 60 metres south of the roundabout next to Discovery Bay Community Hall to a point about 420 metres west of the same roundabout;
(3) The northbound carriageway of Bayside Drive from its junction with Discovery Bay Tunnel access road roundabout to a point about 30 metres west of the same junction;
(4) The eastbound carriageway of Discovery Bay Road from its junction with Discovery Bay Tunnel access road roundabout to a point about 25 metres north of the same junction;
(5) The eastbound carriageway of Discovery Bay Tunnel access road from its junction with Discovery Bay Tunnel access road roundabout to a point about 470 metres east of the same junction;
(6) The southbound carriageway of Siena Avenue from its junction with the roundabout next to Discovery Bay Community Hall to a point about 90 metres south of the same junction;
(7) The southbound carriageway of Siena Avenue from a point about 105 metres south of the roundabout next to Discovery Bay Community Hall to a point about 155 metres south of the same roundabout; and
(8) The southbound carriageway of Siena Avenue from its junction with Auberge Discovery Bay Hong Kong Hotel roundabout to a point about 90 metres south of the same junction.
Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:—
(a) picking up or setting down passengers; or
(b) loading or unloading goods.
The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.
