Transport Department Notice

 

Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on North Lantau Highway

and Cheung Tung Road

 

             Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the road works of Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Link-Southern Connection Viaduct Section, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Lantau Island on 9 and 10 March 2016 with the time periods specified below:

 

 

(A)    Road Closure

 

(i)       A section of Cheung Tung Road between Pak Mong and Ngau Tau Wan will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 12.30 a.m. to 2.30 a.m. on 10 March 2016.

 

(ii)     A section of slow lane of North Lantau Highway Tung Chung bound from a point about 200 metres east of its junction with the slip road leading to Siu Ho Wan Depot to a point about 600 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic from 10.00 p.m. on 9 March 2016 to 2.30 a.m. on 10 March 2016. Motorists are advised to use the middle lane or fast lane of the above road section.

 

 

(B)    Traffic Arrangements

 

(i)       To and from the west of Pak Mong on Cheung Tung Road

 

(a)    Motorists from the west of Pak Mong on Cheung Tung Road heading for Sunny Bay, Discovery Bay or Tsing Yi are advised to travel via Cheung Tung Road, Fu Tung Street, Tat Tung Road, Shun Tung Road, Yu Tung Road and Tung Chung Eastern Interchange, North Lantau Highway and continue their journeys; and

 

(b)   Motorists from Tsing Yi, Discovery Bay or Sunny Bay heading for the west of Pak Mong are advised to travel via North Lantau Highway, Tung Chung Eastern Interchange, Yu Tung Road, Shun Tung Road, Tat Tung Road, Fu Tung Street, Cheung Tung Road and continue their journeys.

 

(ii)     To and from the east of Ngau Tau Wan on Cheung Tung Road

 

(a)    Motorists from the east of Ngau Tau Wan on Cheung Tung Road heading for the west of Pak Mong, Tung Chung or the Airport are advised to travel via Cheung Tung Road, Sunny Bay Road, Penny’s Bay Highway, North Lantau Highway and continue their journeys; and

 

(b)   Motorists from the Airport, Tung Chung or the west of Pak Mong heading for the east of Ngau Tau Wan are advised to travel via North Lantau Highway, Penny’s Bay Highway, Sunny Bay Road, Cheung Tung Road and continue their journeys.

 

 

(C)    Public Transport Arrangements

 

(i)       The Discovery Bay bound journeys of Residents’ Service DB01R and DB02R will be diverted via Tat Tung Road, Shun Tung Road, Yu Tung Road, Tung Chung Eastern Interchange, North Lautau Highway, Penny’s Bay Highway, Sunny Bay Road and Cheung Tung Road before resuming to normal routeing;

 

(ii)     The Tung Chung bound journeys of Residents’ Service DB01R will be diverted via Cheung Tung Road, Sunny Bay Road, Penny’s Bay Highway, North Lantau Highway, Tung Chung Eastern Interchange, Yu Tung Road, Shun Tung Road and Tat Tung Road before resuming to normal routeing; and

 

(iii)   The Airport bound journeys of Residents’ Service DB02R will be diverted via Cheung Tung Road, Sunny Bay Road, Penny’s Bay Highway and North Lantau Highway before resuming to normal routeing.

 

 

             Appropriate traffic aids will be erected on site. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care. The public transport operators will put up notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
