TRAFFIC ADVICE

 

Special Traffic Arrangements for a Public Meeting in Central

 

    Members of the public are advised that the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented from 4.00 pm on 5 August to 8.00 am on 6 August 2016 in connection with the public meeting to be held in Central:

 

I.       Road Closure

 

The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:

(a)      the general lay-by at Lung Wui Road westbound outside CITIC Tower;

(b)      all lay-bys on Lung Wo Road; and

(c)       the general pick-up / drop-off and loading / unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park.

 

II.       Suspension of taxi stand

 

The taxi stand and general lay-by at Lung Wui Road westbound outside CITIC Tower will be suspended.

 

III.      Suspension of parking spaces

 

All on-street parking spaces, motorcycle parking spaces and disabled parking spaces at below locations will be suspended:

 

(a)     Lung Wui Road eastbound opposite to CITIC Tower; and

(b)     the general pick-up / drop-off and loading / unloading area on Lung Wo Road north of Star Ferry Multi-Storey Car Park.

 

IV.     Restriction on Access to/ Exit from Car parks

 

Vehicles may not be permitted to leave or access the carparks along the above closed road sections during the road closure period until the roads are re-opened to traffic.

 

Actual implementation of and adjustments to the traffic control will be made by the Police at the time depending on the conditions in the areas.

 

Motorists are advised to take heed of instruction of the Police, avoid driving to the affected areas and watch out for the latest traffic news via media, and should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion.
