TRAFFIC ADVICE
Songkran Hong Kong 2018 to be held in Lai Chi Kok on 8 April 2018
Members of the public are advised that Songkran Hong Kong 2018 activities will be held in Lai Chi Kok from about 12.00 noon to 6.30 pm on 8 April 2018, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented as follow:-
I. Nang Songkran Parade (from 12.30 pm to 2.00 pm on 8 April 2018)
The parade convoy will follow the routeing below:-
Outside Liberte (starting point), Lai Chi Kok Road, Tai Nan West Street and Cheung Yee Street (finishing point).
II. Temporary Road Closure
Cheung Yee Street from its junction with Tai Nan West Street to a point about 270 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.
Affected vehicles will be diverted via Tai Nan West Street northbound, Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound, Butterfly Valley Road southbound, Lai Chi Kok Road eastbound, Cheung Mou Street northbound and Cheung Shun Street eastbound.
III. Temporary Transport Arrangement
Kowloon GMB route nos. 44A and 44M (Cheung Shun Street bound) will be diverted via Tai Nan West Street northbound, Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound, Cheung Shun Street southbound and Cheung Shun Street eastbound, and then resume to its original routings.
Kowloon GMB route nos. 44A and 44M (Hoi Lai Estate and Stonecutters Island bound) will be diverted via Cheung Shun Street eastbound, Tai Nan West Street northbound, Cheung Sha Wan Road westbound, Butterfly Valley Road southbound and Lai Chi Kok Road eastbound, and then resume to its original routings.
The existing GMB stops of 44A and 44M in Cheung Yee Street (both bounds) (near Goodluck Industrial Centre) will be temporarily suspended. Passengers may use the GMB stop located at Cheung Shun Street.
Appropriate traffic signs have been erected on site to guide motorists. Public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements. Actual implementation of and adjustment to traffic control arrangements will be made by the Police at the time depending on conditions in the areas, motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion, and take heed of instruction given by the Police.
