ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

Restricted Zones in North Point

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 3 August 2018, the following road sections in North Point will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:

(a)  the southern kerbside lane of Java Road from a point about 25 metres west of its junction with Shu Kuk Street to the same junction;

(b)  the western kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street between Marble Road and Java Road;

(c)  the eastern kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street from its junction with Marble Road to a point about 25 metres north of the same junction;

(d)  the section of Marble Road from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Shu Kuk Street to the same junction;

(e)  the western kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street from a point about 20 metres south of its junction with Marble Road to the same junction;

(f)  the eastern kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street from a point about 15 metres south of its junction with Marble Road to the same junction;

(g)  the southern kerbside lane of Marble Road from a point about 5 metres east of its junction with Shu Kuk Street to the same junction;

(h)  the section of Shu Kuk Street from its junction with King’s Road eastbound to a point about 20 metres north of the same junction;

(i)  the northern kerbside lane of King’s Road from a point about 25 metres west of its junction with Shu Kuk Street to a point about 30 metres east of the same junction;

(j)  the southern kerbside lane of King’s Road from a point about 35 metres east of its junction with Shu Kuk Street to a point about 15 metres west of the same junction;

(k)  the western kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street from a point about 25 metres south of its junction with King’s Road westbound to the same junction; and

(l)  the eastern kerbside lane of Shu Kuk Street from a point about 50 metres south of its junction with King’s Road westbound to the same junction.

        Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a)  picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)  loading or unloading goods.

        The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

        At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
