Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements
for Tram Track Renewal Works in Western District

        Members of the public are advised that to facilitate the tram track renewal works at Catchick Street, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented during the period from about 10.00 am on 12 October 2018 to 10.00 am on 23 October 2018:

(A)   Traffic Lane Closure

The slow lane of Catchick Street eastbound from its junction with Davis Street to a point about 25 metres west of the same junction (except trams) will be temporarily closed.

(B)   Banning of Turning Movement

All vehicles exceeding 7 metres in length will be temporarily prohibited from turning left from Catchick Street eastbound onto Davis Street northbound.

(C)   Traffic Diversion

Vehicles exceeding 7 metres in length on Catchick Street eastbound heading for New Praya Kennedy Town will be diverted via Davis Street southbound, Belcher’s Street and Cadogan Street.

(D)   Suspension of Goods Vehicle Parking Spaces

The goods vehicle parking spaces of about 45 metres in length on New Praya Kennedy Town opposite the Catchick Street Garden will be suspended.

        Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists. The Transport Department anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of the above road sections would be relatively busy.  Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion. Members of the public are advised to watch out for the latest traffic news.
