TRAFFIC ADVICE

Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements
for a Public Procession in Western District on 7 August 2019

        Members of the public are advised that to facilitate a public procession to be held in Western District on 7 August 2019 (Wednesday), the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented by the Police:

I.   Intermittent Road Closure

        The following road sections will be intermittently closed by the police from about 10.45 am onwards until the crowd has dispersed:

(a)  Sai Ning Street;

(b)  Victoria Road;

(c)  Cadogan Street;

(d)  Catchick Street;

(e)  Praya Kennedy Town;

(f)  Sai Cheung Street;

(g)  Belcher's Street; and

(h)  Smithfield.

II.   Restriction on Access to/ Exit from Car Parks

        Vehicles may not be permitted to leave or access the car parks along the above closed road sections during the road closure period until the roads are re-opened to traffic.

III.   Implementation and Appeals

        Actual implementation of and adjustments to the traffic control will be made by the Police at the time depending on the conditions in the areas.

        Motorists are advised to take heed of instruction of the Police, avoid driving to the affected areas and watch out for the latest traffic news via media, and should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion.
