Rescission of Public Light Bus Prohibited Zones on Tsing Sha Highway

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(a) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 20 October 2019, the existing public light bus prohibited zones 24 hours daily on the following road sections will be rescinded:

(a)  the slip road from Ching Cheung Road to Tsing Sha Highway northbound;

(b)  the slip road from Castle Peak Road – Kwai Chung to Tsing Sha Highway northbound; and

(c)  the section of Tsing Sha Highway southbound, south of its junction with the slip road to Chik Wan Street.

        The above rescission will not affect the public light bus prohibitions designated along Tsing Sha Highway and its slips roads, which will remain in force under regulation 4(1) of the Road Traffic (Expressway) Regulations.

        At the same time, the following road sections will be designated as prohibited zones for public light buses 24 hours daily:

(a)  the slip road from Tai Po Road – Tai Wai to Tsing Sha Highway southbound;

(b)  the slip road from Tsing Sha Highway northbound to Che Kung Miu Road;

(c)  the slip road from Ching Cheung Road southbound to Tsing Kwai Highway westbound;

(d)  the section of Tsing Sha Highway southbound, south of its junction with the slip road to Lai Po Road southbound;

(e)  the section of Lai Po Road southbound, south of its junction with the slip road to Lin Cheung Road eastbound;

(f)  the section of Lin Cheung Road eastbound, east of its junction with the slip road to Hing Wah Street West; and

(g)  the section of Sham Mong Road westbound, west of its junction with Hing Wah Street West.

        All public light buses, except those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from entering the prohibited zones 24 hours daily.

        The extents of the prohibited zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs.
