Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Austin Road West, Yau Ma Tei

        Members of the public are advised that to facilitate the road improvement works near Hong Kong West Kowloon Station of the Hong Kong Section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. on 9 April 2020:

(A)   Lane closures

The following traffic lanes will be closed to all vehicular traffic:

(i)  The second lane of Austin Road West eastbound from a point about 80 metres east of its junction with Nga Cheung Road to a point about 200 metres east of the same junction; and

(ii)  The first lane of Austin Road West underpass eastbound from a point about 40 metres west of its junction with Lin Cheung Road underpass to a point about 260 metres west of the same junction.

(B)   Traffic arrangements

(i)  Motorists from Austin Road West eastbound heading to Lantau and Hong Kong (West) are advised to travel via Austin Road West eastbound, loop road, Austin Road West westbound, roundabout, Nga Cheung Road northbound, roundabout, Jordan Road eastbound, Lin Cheung Road northbound and continue their journeys; and

(ii)  Motorists from Austin Road West eastbound heading to Tsim Sha Tsui are advised to travel via Austin Road West eastbound, loop road, Austin Road West westbound, roundabout, Nga Cheung Road northbound, roundabout, Jordan Road eastbound, Lin Cheung Road southbound, Lin Cheung Road underpass southbound slip road, Austin Road West underpass eastbound, Austin Road West eastbound and continue their journeys.

(C)   Public transport arrangements

(i)  KMB route nos. 8 (Kowloon Station – Star Ferry Pier), 11 (Kowloon Station – Diamond Hill Station), 215X (Kowloon Station – Lam Tin (Kwong Tin Estate)), 281A (Kowloon Station – Kwong Yuen) and 296D (Kowloon Station – Sheung Tak) from Nga Cheung Road southbound heading for Austin Road West eastbound will be diverted to travel via Nga Cheung Road northbound, roundabout, Jordan Road eastbound, Lin Cheung Road southbound, Lin Cheung Road underpass southbound slip road, Austin Road West underpass eastbound and Austin Road West eastbound before resuming normal routeings; and

(ii)  KMB route no. 203E (Kowloon Station – Choi Hung) from Nga Cheung Road southbound heading for Austin Road West eastbound will be diverted to travel via Nga Cheung Road southbound, roundabout, Nga Cheung Road northbound, roundabout, Jordan Road eastbound, Lin Cheung Road southbound, Lin Cheung Road underpass southbound slip road, Austin Road West underpass eastbound and Austin Road West eastbound before resuming normal routeings. The bus stop of the bus route at Austin Road West eastbound will be temporarily relocated about 120 metres westward to Nga Cheung Road southbound.

        Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care. The public transport operator will put up notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
