Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements
for Tram Track Renewal Works in Wan Chai District

        Members of the public are advised that to facilitate the tram track renewal works at Johnston Road near Fleming Road and Wan Chai Road, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented during the periods specified below:

(i)   from about 10.00 am on 28 November 2020 to 10.00 am on 30 November 2020; and

(ii)  from about 10.00 am on 5 December 2020 to 10.00 am on 7 December 2020.

(I)   Temporary Traffic Arrangements

(A)   Traffic Lane Closure

The following traffic lanes will be temporarily closed:

(i)   The right lane of Johnston Road (westbound) from its junction with Fleming Road to a point about 50 metres east of the same junction (except tram); and

(ii)  The left lane of Fleming Road (southbound) from its junction with Johnston Road to a point about 30 metres north of the same junction.

(B)   Banning of Turning Movement

All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from turning left from Fleming Road southbound onto Wan Chai Road eastbound.

(C)   Traffic Diversion

All vehicles on Fleming Road southbound heading for Wan Chai Road eastbound will be diverted via Johnston Road eastbound, Hennessy Road westbound, and Johnston Road eastbound.

(II)   Temporary Transport Arrangements

(A)   Bus Diversion

To facilitate the above works, the following bus routes would be diverted during the following periods:

Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements.

 　

The Transport Department anticipates that the traffic in the vicinity of the above road sections would be relatively busy. Motorists should exercise tolerance and patience in case of traffic congestion. Members of the public are advised to watch out for the latest traffic news. Public transport commuters are advised to pay attention to the arrangements of relocation of stops.
