ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

Extension of Temporary Restricted Zones in Happy Valley

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 4 December 2020 to 11.59 pm on 31 March 2021, the following road sections in Happy Valley will continue to be temporarily designated as restricted zones at the time period specified below:

I.   24 hours daily

(a)   the northern kerbside lane of Village Road from a point about 5 metres west of its junction with Wang Tak Street to the western kerbside lane of Wang Tak Street from a point about 5 metres north of its junction with Village Road;

(b)   the southern kerbside lane of Village Road from a point about 50 metres west of its junction with Shan Kwong Road to a point about 80 metres west of the same junction;

(c)   the northern kerbside lane of Village Road from a point about 15 metres east of its junction with Shan Kwong Road to a point about 30 metres east of the same junction; and(d) the northern kerbside lane of Village Road from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Shan Kwong Road to a point about 20 metres west of the same junction.

II.  From 8.00 am to 10.00 am and from 5.00 pm to 7.00 pm daily

(a)   the southern kerbside lane of Village Road from a point about 20 metres west of its junction with Shan Kwong Road to a point about 35 metres west of the same junction; and

(b)   The northern kerbside lane of Village Road from a point about 20 metres west of its junction with Shan Kwong Road to a point about 50 metres west of the same junction.

        Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a)   picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)   loading or unloading goods.

        The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

        At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
