ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

Restricted Zones in Jordan

  In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1) (b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 11 December 2020, the following road sections in Jordan will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:

  (a)  the northern kerbside lane of Austin Road from a point about 15 metres west of its junction with Temple Street to a point about 10 metres east of the same junction;

  (b)  the western kerbside lane of Temple Street from its junction with Austin Road to a point about 10 metres north of the same junction;

  (c)  the eastern kerbside lane of Temple Street from its junction with Austin Road to a point about 20 metres north of the same junction;

  (d)  the southern kerbside lane of Haiphong Road from a point about 5 metres west of its junction with Lock Road to a point about 15 metres west of the same junction;

  (e)  the eastern kerbside lane of Lock Road from its junction with Haiphong Road to a point about 5 metres south of the same junction;

  (f)  the southern kerbside lane of Haiphong Road from its junction with Lock Road to a point about 5 metres east of the same junction;

  (g)  the southern kerbside lane of Austin Road from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Parkes Street to a point about 25 metres east of the same junction;

  (h)  the northern kerbside lane of Austin Road from a point about 15 metres west of its junction with Parkes Street to a point about 20 metres east of the same junction; and

  (i)  the section of Parkes Street from its junction with Austin Road to a point about 15 metres north of the same junction.

  Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles and drivers of all public light buses, except those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

  (a)  picking up or setting down passengers; or
  (b)  loading or unloading goods.

  The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

  At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
