ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

Restricted Zones on Hung Mui Kuk Road, Sha Tin

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 29 December 2020, the following road sections will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:

(a)   the eastern kerbside lane of Hung Mui Kuk Road (including the bus lay-by) from a point about 7 metres south of its junction with the slip road leading from Hung Mui Kuk Road to Lion Rock Tunnel Road northbound to a point about 65 metres south of the same junction; and

(b)   the western kerbside lane of Hung Mui Kuk Road from a point about 80 metres south of its junction with the slip road leading from Lion Rock Tunnel Road to Hung Mui Kuk Road northbound to a point about 116 metres south of the same junction.

        Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a)   picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)   loading or unloading goods.

        The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate road markings.

        At the same time, the existing restricted zone from 7.00 am to 12.00 midnight daily on the western kerbside lane of Hung Mui Kuk Road from a point about 80 metres south of its junction with the slip road leading from Lion Rock Tunnel Road to Hung Mui Kuk Road northbound to a point about 116 metres south of the same junction will be rescinded.
