(CHAPTER 374)

Restricted Zones in Ma On Shan

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 18 December 2020, the following road sections in Ma On Shan will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily:-

(a)   the western kerbside lane of Sai Sha Road northbound from a point about 25 metres south of its junction with Hang Hong Street to a point about 20 metres north of the same junction;

(b)   the eastern kerbside lane of Sai Sha Road southbound from a point about 50 metres north of its junction with Hang Hong Street to a point about 20 metres south of the same junction;

(c)   the northern kerbside lane of Hang Hong Street eastbound from its junction with Sai Sha Road northbound to a point about 15 metres west of the same junction;

(d)   the southern kerbside lane of Hang Hong Street westbound from its junction with Sai Sha Road northbound to a point about 20 metres west of the same junction;

(e)   the northern kerbside lane of Hang Hong Street eastbound from its junction with Sai Sha Road southbound to a point about 10 metres east of the same junction;

(f)   the southern kerbside lane of Hang Hong Street westbound from its junction with Sai Sha Road southbound to a point about 40 metres east of the same junction;

(g)   the section of On Chun Street northbound from a point about 55 metres north of its junction with On Chun Street westbound to a point about 70 metres north of the same junction; and

(h)   the northern kerbside lane of the unnamed road eastbound in Chevalier Garden Bus Terminus from a point about 40 metres east of its junction with Hang Shun Street to a point about 55 metres east of the same junction.

        Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:-

(a)   picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)   loading or unloading goods.

        The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

        At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
