Traffic and Transport Arrangements for Commissioning of
Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road

(a)   Traffic Arrangements

        Members of the public are advised that Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road which connects Tuen Mun Area 40 with Hong Kong Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and North Lantau (including Tuen Mun-Chek Lap Kok Tunnel) will be opened at 8.00 am on 27 December 2020 (Sunday).

        At the same time, two new connecting roads, Ho Wo Street and Ho Yat Street will also be opened for public use.

        Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Members of the public may enquire 1823, browse Transport Department's ("TD") website (www.td.gov.hk) or HKeMobility mobile application for more details about the latest traffic arrangements.

(b)   Public Transport Arrangements

        To tie in with the opening of Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road, the following six franchised bus routes plying between North Lantau and Tuen Mun district operated by Long Win Bus Company Limited ("LW") will be diverted via this road in lieu of Lantau Link with effect from the first departure of 28 December 2020 (Monday):

(1)   LW Route No. A33 (Tuen Mun Road Bus-Bus Interchange - Airport (Ground Transportation Centre));

(2)   LW Route No. A33X (Tuen Mun (Fu Tai) - Airport (Ground Transportation Centre));

(3)   LW Route No. A34 (Hung Shui Kiu (Hung Yuen Road) - Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)) (New Route);

(4)   LW Route No. E33 (Tuen Mun Central Bus Terminus - Airport (Ground Transportation Centre));

(5)   LW Route No. E33P (Siu Hong Station (South) - Airport (Ground Transportation Centre)); and

(6)   LW Route No. NA33 (Tuen Mun (Fu Tai) - Airport (Cathay Pacific City)).

        The Bus-Bus Interchange ("BBI") located at Tuen Mun Chek Lap Kok Tunnel Road will also be commissioned on the same day and the above franchised bus routes will observe the BBI to facilitate passengers interchanging bus routes to/from various destinations between North Lantau and Tuen Mun.

        Detailed information of the above 6 routes can be found in TD's website.  LW will also disseminate the details of route diversion, stop relocation and bus-bus interchange arrangements through various channels, including notices at bus stops and inside bus compartments, uploading the said information to LW's website (www.lwb.hk) and mobile application.  Passengers may utilize the above means and pay attention to the associated arrangements to avoid any delay in their journeys.
