ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374) 

Restricted Zones in Yau Ma Tei 

      In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1) (b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 27 January 2021, the following road sections in Yau Ma Tei will be designated as restricted zones 24 hours daily: 

(a)   the section of Canton Road from a point about 10 metres north of its junction with Nanking Street to a point about 5 metres south of the same junction;

(b)   the section of Nanking Street from its junction with Canton Road to a point about 5 metres east of the same junction;

(c)   the section of Nanking Street from its junction with Battery Street to a point about 5 metres west of the same junction;

(d)   the western kerbside lane of Battery Street from a point about 5 metres north of its junction with Nanking Street to a point about 15 metres south of the same junction;

(e)   the eastern kerbside lane of Battery Street from a point about 10 metres north of its junction with Nanking Street to a point about 15 metres south of the same junction;

(f)   the section of Nanking Street from its junction with Battery Street to a point about 5 metres east of the same junction;

(g)   the northern kerbside lane of Nanking Street from a point about 10 metres west of its junction with Reclamation Street to a point about 10 metres east of the same junction;

(h)   the section of Reclamation Street from its junction with Nanking Street to a point about 5 metres north of the same junction;

(i)   the southern kerbside lane of Nanking Street from its junction with Shanghai Street to a point about 10 metres west of the same junction;

(j)   the eastern kerbside lane of Shanghai Street from a point about 15 metres north of its junction with Nanking Street to a point about 5 metres south of the same junction;

(k)   the eastern kerbside lane of Shanghai Street from a point about 20 metres north of its junction with Ning Po Street to a point about 15 metres south of the same junction;

(l)   the western kerbside lane of Shanghai Street from a point about 5 metres north of its junction with Ning Po Street to a point about 10 metres north of the same junction;

(m) the section of Ning Po Street from its junction with Shanghai Street to a point about 15 metres east of the same junction;

(n)   the section of Ning Po Street from a point about 5 metres east of its junction with Reclamation Street to a point about 10 metres east of the same junction;

(o)   the western kerbside lane of Reclamation Street from a point about 5 metres north of its junction with Ning Po Street to a point about 5 metres south of the same junction;

(p)   the section of Ning Po Street from its junction with Reclamation Street to a point about 5 metres west of the same junction;

(q)   the section of Ning Po Street from its junction with Battery Street to a point about 5 metres east of the same junction;

(r)   the eastern kerbside lane of Battery Street from a point about 5 metres north of its junction with Ning Po Street to a point about 5 metres south of the same junction;

(s)   the western kerbside lane of Battery Street from its junction with Ning Po Street to a point about 5 metres south of the same junction; and

(t)   the section of Ning Po Street from its junction with Battery Street to a point about 5 metres west of the same junction.

      Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a)   picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)   loading or unloading goods.

      The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

      At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
