ROAD TRAFFIC (TRAFFIC CONTROL) REGULATIONS (CHAPTER 374)

 Restricted Zones on Wai Yip Street and Lai Yip Street, Kwun Tong

      In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 14(1)(b) of the Road Traffic (Traffic Control) Regulations, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 am on 3 February 2021, the following road sections in Kwun Tong will be designated as restricted zones as below:-.

From 8.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. and from 4.00 p.m. to 8.00 p.m. daily (except general holidays)

(a)   the northern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 20 metres east of its junction with Tsun Yip Street to a point about 130 metres east of the same junction;

(b)   the northern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 25 metres east of its junction with How Ming Street to a point about 250 metres east of the same junction;

(c)   the northern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 30 metres east of its junction with Lai Yip Street to a point about 190 metres east of the same junction;

(d)   the southern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 20 metres east of its junction with Tsun Yip Street to a point about 70 metres east of the same junction;

(e)   the southern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 25 metres east of its junction with How Ming Street to a point about 250 metres east of the same junction;

(f)   the eastern kerbside lane of Lai Yip Street from a point about 30 metres south of its junction with Wai Yip Street to a point about 40 metres south of the same junction;

(g)   the slip road leading from the southern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street to the eastern kerbside lane of Lai Yip Street; and

(h)   the southern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 30 metres east of its junction with Lai Yip Street to a point about 230 metres east of the same junction.

From 7.00 a.m. to 8.00 p.m. daily (except general holidays)

(a)   the northern kerbside lane of Wai Yip Street from a point about 190 metres east of its junction with Lai Yip Street to a point about 230 metres east of the same junction.

      Within the restricted zones, drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from:

(a)   picking up or setting down passengers; or

(b)   loading or unloading goods.

      The extent of the restricted zones will be indicated by appropriate traffic signs and road markings.

      At the same time, the existing restricted zones on the above road sections will be rescinded.
