Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements

in Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery for Chung Yeung Festival 2021

        Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in the vicinity of Tseung Kwan O Chinese Permanent Cemetery ("the Cemetery") for Chung Yeung Festival 2021:

(I)   Temporary Road Closure
(i)   General Closure
On 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 24 and 31 October 2021, the access road leading from Ko Chiu Road to the Cemetery will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 5.30 am to 6.00 pm daily (except for emergency vehicles, KMB Special Route No. 14S, hearses, vehicles in funeral processions and vehicles with valid entry permit issued by the Cemetery).

(ii)  Full Closure
On 14 October 2021 (Chung Yeung Festival), full closure will be implemented on the access road leading from Ko Chiu Road to the Cemetery between 5.30 am and 8.00 pm except for emergency vehicles.

Grave sweepers may make use of the BMCPC Footpath opposite to MTR Tiu Keng Leng Station or the access road on Ko Chiu Road to access the Cemetery. As there are staircases on the BMCPC Footpath, wheelchair users should make use of the access road on Ko Chiu Road.

(II)   Franchised Bus Service
KMB Special Route No. 14S plying between Yau Tong and the Cemetery will be operated between 7.00 am and 5.25 pm daily on 3, 9, 10, 16, 17, 24 and 31 October 2021. The service may be strengthened subject to passenger demand. The pick-up and drop-off point of the said route in Yau Tong will be provided on Lei Yue Mun Road southbound opposite to Yau Tong Estate and on Ko Chiu Road southbound outside Lei Yue Mun Estate respectively.

(III) Temporary Drop-off points for Taxis and Public Light Bus (PLB)
Taxis and PLB passengers may make use of the following temporary drop-off points and interchange with KMB Special Route No. 14S or walk to the Cemetery:
(i)   the non-restricted zone on Ko Chiu Road northbound near Ko Yee Estate;
(ii)  the layby on Lei Yue Mun Road southbound outside Lei Yue Mun Road Playground;
(iii) the non-restricted zone on Lei Yue Mun Road northbound outside Lei Yue Mun Plaza; and
(iv) The non-restricted zone on Lei Yue Mun Road northbound outside Shuk Mei House of Yau Mei Court.

(IV) Attention and Appeal
(i)   As parking facilities in the vicinity of the Cemetery is limited, grave sweepers are advised to visit the Cemetery on other non-festival days and use of public transport;
(ii)  Grave sweepers are also advised to avoid visiting the Cemetery during the peak hours between 12.00 noon and 2.00 pm;
(iii) Members of public can browse the official website of The Board of Management of The Chinese Permanent Cemeteries (bmcpc.org.hk) for the opening hours of the Cemetery; and
(iv) For updated and latest traffic and transport information, members of the public can visit the TD's website (td.gov.hk), use the mobile application "HKeMobility" or call 1823.
