Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Tung Chung Road, Lantau Island for Chung Yeung Festival 2022

        Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Tung Chung Road for the Chung Yeung Festival in 2022:

(A)   Traffic Arrangement

Between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. on 1, 2, 3, 4, 8 and 9 October 2022

(i)  The section of closed road on Tung Chung Road (between Shek Mun Kap Road and South Lantau Road) will be temporarily opened for all vehicles to access.

(ii) All other roads and access roads on south Lantau will remain closed 24 hours daily. All motor vehicles, except emergency vehicles and those with valid Lantau Closed Road Permits, will be banned from entering the closed road area.

(B)   
Public Transport Service

NLB Route No.34S (Tung Chung Tat Tung Road Bus Terminus – Tung Chung Cemetery Area No. 18) will be operated between 8:45 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. on 4 October 2022.

(C)   Removal of Illegally Parked Vehicles

Any vehicles found illegally parked in the vicinity of Tung Chung Road may be towed away by the Police without prior notice.

Attention and Appeal

Members of the public are advised that traffic congestion may occur on roads leading to Tung Chung Road Burial Ground No. 18 during the festival period. Grave-sweepers are advised to exercise utmost care and patience and to go to the cemetery early or on other non-festival days.

Actual implementation of and adjustments to the traffic arrangement will be made by the Police depending on traffic conditions in the areas.
