Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements
on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road, Sha Tin

        Notice is hereby given that in order to facilitate road works, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented from 1.00 am to 5.15 am on 16 June 2024:

        A. Road Closures

The following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular access:

    1. The section of Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound between Luk Chuen House, Lek Yuen Estate and Scenery Court;
    2. The slip roads from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road to Tai Po Road - Sha Tin southbound;
    3. The bus lane of the slip road from Tai Po Road - Sha Tin northbound to Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound; and
    4. The bus lane from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road to Tai Po Road - Sha Tin southbound.
        B. Banning of Turning Movements

The following turning movements will be prohibited:

    1. Turning left from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound onto Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound; and
    2. Turning right from Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound onto Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound.
        C. Traffic Diversions

    1. Affected vehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound heading for Shing Mun Tunnels will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound, Che Kung Miu Road southbound, roundabout, Mei Tin Road westbound and Tai Po Road – Tai Wai northbound;
    2. Affected vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound heading for Shing Mun Tunnels will be diverted via Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound, Che Kung Miu Road southbound, roundabout, Mei Tin Road westbound and Tai Po Road – Tai Wai northbound;
    3. Affected vehicles on Tai Po Road – Sha Tin southbound and Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound heading for Tsing Sha Highway will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound, Lion Rock Tunnel Road westbound, and Tai Po Road – Tai Wai southbound; and
    4. Affected vehicles on Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound heading for Tsing Sha Highway will be diverted via Pai Tau Street, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound, Lion Rock Tunnel Road westbound and Tai Po Road – Tai Wai southbound.

        D. Public Transport Arrangements

    1. LWB Route No. N42A (Tung Chung Station bound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound, Che Kung Miu Road southbound, Mei Tin Road westbound and Tai Po Road – Tai Wai northbound, before resuming its original routeing;
    2. LWB Route No. NA47 (HZMB (Hong Kong Port) bound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Tai Chung Kiu Road southbound, Lion Rock Tunnel Road westbound and Tai Po Road – Tai Wai southbound, before resuming its original routeing;
    3. KMB Route Nos. N73 (Sha Tin Central bound) and N271 (Hung Hom Station bound), LWB Route No. N42 (Tung Chung Station bound) and XHT Route No. N170 (Sha Tin Central bound) will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road southbound, Tam Kon Po Street, Sha Tin Centre Street southbound, Pak Hok Ting Street and Sha Tin Centre Street northbound before resuming to their original routeings;
    4. LWB Route No.NA40 (HZMB Hong Kong Port bound) will be diverted via Yuen Wo Road southbound, Tam Kon Po Street, Sha Tin Centre Street southbound, Pak Hok Ting Street, Sha Tin Centre Street northbound, Sha Tin Central Bus Terminus, Sha Tin Centre Street northbound, Wang Pok Street, Yuen Wo Road northbound, Sha Tin Rural Committee Road westbound, Tai Po Road - Sha Tin northbound and Fo Tan Road eastbound before resuming to its original routeing;
    5. LWB Route No. NA40 (Wu Kai Sha bound) will be diverted via Sha Tin Rural Committee Road eastbound, Yuen Wo Road southbound, Tam Kon Po Street, Sha Tin Centre Street southbound, Pak Hok Ting Street, Sha Tin Centre Street northbound before resuming to its original routeing; and
    6. New Territories taxis in Sha Tin, Ma On Shan and Tai Po heading for Tsuen Wan will be diverted via Tolo Highway northbound, Lam Kam Road Interchange, Lam Kam Road southbound and Route Twisk southbound.

        Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists. Public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above arrangements.
