TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Wong Chuk Hang Road and at Aberdeen Tunnel, Southern District
Notice is hereby given that the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented on Wong Chuk Hang Road and at Aberdeen Tunnel northbound entrance from 12.30 am to 5.30 am on 5, 6, 10 and 11 September 2024 to facilitate lift tower installation works:
I. Traffic Arrangements
A. Road Closure
The following roads will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic:
(i) The middle and offside lanes of Wong Chuk Hang Road eastbound between Gee Chang Hong Centre and Hong Kong Academy of Medicine Jockey Club Building;
(ii) The offside lane of Wong Chuk Hang Road southbound between Wong Chuk Hang Road Garden and The Hazelton; and
(iii) The down-ramp of Aberdeen Tunnel approach road connecting Wong Chuk Hang Road eastbound to Aberdeen Tunnel northbound entrance.
B. Traffic Diversion
Affected vehicles from Wong Chuk Hang Road eastbound heading for Aberdeen Tunnel northbound entrance will be diverted via Wong Chuk Hang Road southbound, U-turn and Wong Chuk Hang Road northbound.
II. Public Transport Arrangements
A. Bus and Green Minibus Diversion
Citybus route nos. 38, 72, 72A, 90, N72, N90 (North Point / Causeway Bay / Quarry Bay / Central bound), cross harbour route nos. N170, N171 (Shatin / Lai Chi Kok bound)，green minibus route nos. N4A, N4C, N4X and N69X (Causeway Bay bound) will be temporarily diverted via Wong Chuk Hang Road southbound, U-turn and Wong Chuk Hang Road northbound.
B. Bus and Green Minibus Stop Relocation
The bus and green minibus stops on Wong Chuk Hang Road outside Wong Chuk Hang Complex for the Elderly will be temporarily relocated to Wong Chuk Hang Road eastbound outside Grantham Hospital.
Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. The public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary public transport arrangements.
