TRANSPORT DEPARTMENT NOTICE
Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Central and The Peak
 

        Notice is hereby given that, to facilitate crowd control measures of National Day Golden Week, the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Central and The Peak from 12.01 am on 1 October 2024 to 11.59 pm on 7 October 2024:

A.     Road Closure and Traffic Diversion
 
(a)    Central
Tramway Lane outside Lower Peak Tram Station will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
 
(b)    Peak Area
The following road will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for access by local residents or vehicles with permits):
 
      1. Lugard Road, Harlech Road, Barker Road and Mount Austin Road will be closed to all vehicular traffic (except for access by local residents or vehicles with permits); and
      2. All uphill traffic along Peak Road towards Lugard Road, Harlech Road, Barker Road and Mount Austin Road (except for access by local residents or vehicles with permits) will be diverted to downhill via the slip road next to the carpark entrance of the Peak Galleria.
 
B.     Suspension of Parking Spaces
 
(a) All on-street metered parking spaces, disabled and motorcycle parking spaces at Tramway Lane will be suspended ; and
(b) All on-street metered parking space and motorcycle parking spaces on Mount Austin Road will be suspended.

C.     Suspension of Bus Service
 

CTB Route No. 15C (Central Ferry Piers (Pier 8) - Garden Road (Lower Peak Tram Station)) will be suspended.

D.     Suspension of Taxi Stand
 

The taxi stand at Tramway Lane outside Lower Peak Tram Station will be suspended.

E.     Enforcement and Appeal
 
Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists. Road closures and traffic diversions will be adjusted by the Police at the time depending on traffic and crowd condition in the areas.
