In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10.00 a.m. on 29 August 2025 to 5.30 a.m. on 30 December 2029, the following road sections of Shing Mun Tunnel Road will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as described below: –

1. the section of Shing Mun Tunnel Road eastbound from a point about 400 metres east of its junction with the exit of Shing Mun Tunnels eastbound tunnel tube to a point about 720 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 70 kilometres per hour; and
2. the section of Shing Mun Tunnel Road eastbound from a point about 720 metres east of its junction with the exit of Shing Mun Tunnels eastbound tunnel tube to a point about 1 460 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.

        Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.

        At the same time, the existing speed limits on the above road sections will be temporarily rescinded. The temporary speed limits on the above road sections as gazetted under G.N. 4769 dated 1 August 2025 will also be rescinded.
