Traffic Advice
Extension of Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Mei Wan Street and Tsuen King Circuit, Tsuen Wan
Motorists are advised that to facilitate road works, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will continue to be implemented from 6.00 p.m. on 30 September 2025 to 6.00 p.m. on 15 October 2025:
(I) Road Closure
- The section of Mei Wan Street eastbound between the access road leading to Discovery Park Bus Terminus and Sai Lau Kok Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.
(II) Banning of Turning Movement
- All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making left-turn movements from Tsuen King Circuit southbound onto Mei Wan Street; and
- All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from moving forward or making left-turn movements from (Chiu Tam Path and) Discovery Park Bus Terminus onto Mei Wan Street eastbound.
(III) Designation of Bus Lane
- The section of the first right traffic lane of Tsuen King Circuit northbound from a point about 64 metres north of its junction with Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan to a point about 95 metres north of the same junction will be temporarily designated as a bus lane 24 hours daily. Drivers of all motor vehicles, except franchised buses and those with permits issued by the Commissioner for Transport, will be prohibited from entering the bus lane.
(IV) Traffic Diversion
- Affected vehicles on Tsuen King Circuit southbound heading for Mei Wan Street will be diverted via Tsuen King Circuit southbound, Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan eastbound, Sai Lau Kok Road northbound and Mei Wan Street westbound.
- Affected vehicles on Tsuen King Circuit northbound heading for Mei Wan Street will be diverted via Tsuen King Circuit northbound, On Yin Street, Tsuen King Circuit southbound, Tsuen King Circuit Flyover southbound, Sha Tsui Road eastbound, Tai Chung Road northbound, Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan eastbound, Sai Lau Kok Road northbound and Mei Wan Street westbound.
- Affected vehicles on Chiu Tam Path or from Discovery Park Bus Terminus heading for Mei Wan Street eastbound will be diverted via Mei Wan Street westbound, Tsuen King Circuit southbound, Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan eastbound, Sai Lau Kok Road northbound and Mei Wan Street westbound.
(V) Suspension of Motorcycle Parking Spaces
- Nine nos. of motorcycle parking spaces on Mei Wan Street eastbound near Mei Wan Street Substation will be temporarily suspended.
(VI) Public Transport Service Arrangements
- To cope with the above traffic arrangements, KMB Route No. 39A (Tsuen Wan West Station Public Transport Interchange – Allway Gardens (Circular)) will be temporarily diverted via Tsuen King Circuit southbound, Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan eastbound and Sai Lau Kok Road northbound, before resuming to its original routing. The existing bus stop of Route No. 39A outside Discovery Park on Mei Wan Street eastbound will be temporarily relocated to Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan eastbound outside CDW Building.
- KMB Route No. 42M (Tsing Yi bound), Route No. 243M (Tsing Yi bound), LWB Route No. A31 (Airport bound), Route No. E31 (Tung Chung bound), Route No. N31 (Airport bound) and Route No. NA31 (HZMB Hong Kong Port bound) will be diverted via Mei Wan Street westbound, Tsuen King Circuit southbound, Castle Peak Road – Tsuen Wan eastbound and Sai Lau Kok Road northbound, before resuming to its original routing. The existing bus stops will remain unchanged.
Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be provided on site to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care.
