Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the infrastructure works for Yuen Long South First Phase Development, the following temporary traffic and transport arrangements will continue to be implemented on Kung Um Road and Kiu Hing Road from 10.00 a.m. on 31 October 2025 to 10.00 a.m. on 30 January 2026.
(A) Temporary Traffic Arrangements
(I) Road Closure
(i) The section of Kung Um Road northbound from its junction with the unnamed access road near Lung Tin Sewage Pumping Station to a point about 100 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic;
(ii) The section of Kung Um Road southbound from a point about 100 metres south of its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 850 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic; and
(iii) The section of Kiu Hing Road southbound from a point about 300 metres south of its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 390 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.
(II) Lane Conversion
The section of Kiu Hing Road from a point about 100 metres south of its junction with Shap Pat Heung Road to a point about 850 metres south of the same junction will be temporarily converted from one-lane two-way traffic into one-lane southbound traffic.
(III) Banning of Turning Movement
(i) All vehicles will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Lam Hi Road eastbound onto Kung Um Road southbound;
(ii) All vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Kiu Hing Road southbound onto Kung Um Road northbound via the temporary vehicular bridge under Yuen Long Highway; and
(iii) All vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length will be temporarily prohibited from making right turn movement from Kung Um Road northbound onto Kiu Hing Road southbound via the temporary vehicular bridge under Yuen Long Highway.
(IV) Traffic Diversions
(i) Affected vehicles on Kung Um Road northbound heading for Shap Pat Heung Road will be diverted via the temporary road near Lung Tin Sewage Pumping Station;
(ii) Affected vehicles on Lam Hi Road eastbound or Kung Um Road northbound heading for Kung Um Road southbound will be diverted via the vehicular bridge eastbound near Ma Tin Pok, Kiu Hing Road southbound, the temporary road near a point about 300 metres south of Kiu Hing Road southbound junction with Shap Pat Heung Road, Kiu Hing Road southbound and the temporary vehicular bridge westbound near Chun Fai Garden;
(iii) Affected vehicles on Kiu Hing Road southbound heading for Kung Um Road northbound or Lam Hi Road westbound will be diverted via the temporary vehicular bridge westbound under Yuen Long Highway;
(iv) Affected vehicles on Kiu Hing Road southbound heading for Kung Um Road southbound will be diverted via the temporary road near a point about 300 metres south of Kiu Hing Road southbound junction with Shap Pat Heung Road, Kiu Hing Road southbound and the temporary vehicular bridge westbound near Chun Fai Garden;
(v) Affected vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length on Kiu Hing Road southbound heading for Kung Um Road northbound will be diverted via the temporary road near a point about 300 metres south of Kiu Hing Road southbound junction with Shap Pat Heung Road, Kiu Hing Road southbound and the temporary vehicular bridge westbound near Chun Fai Garden;
(vi) Affected vehicles on Kung Um Road northbound heading for Kiu Hing Road southbound will be diverted via the temporary vehicular bridge under Yuen Long Highway eastbound; and
(vii) Affected vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length on Kung Um Road northbound heading for Kiu Hing Road southbound will be diverted via the vehicular bridge eastbound near Ma Tin Pok.
(B) Temporary Transport Arrangement
The New Territories GMB Route Nos. 39, 39 Special Service, and 39A (Kung Um Road bound) will be diverted via the temporary road near a point about 300 metres south of Kiu Hing Road southbound junction with Shap Pat Heung Road, Kiu Hing Road southbound and the temporary vehicular bridge westbound near Chun Fai Garden before resuming to their original routeings.
Appropriate traffic signs and road markings have been set up on site to guide motorists. The GMB operator has displayed notices to advise passengers of the above temporary arrangements.
