ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (Chapter 374)
Temporary Speed Limit on North Lantau Highway, Lantau Island

          In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 10 a.m. on 13 December 2025 to 6 p.m. on 31 May 2026, the following road sections of North Lantau Highway will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as described below:-

          (a) the section of North Lautau Highway westbound from a point about 290 metres east of its junction with its slip road leading to Tung Chung Waterfront Road to a point about 190 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour; and

          (b) the section of the slip road of North Lantau Highway westbound leading to Tung Chung Waterfront Road from its junction with North Lantau Highway westbound to a point about 185 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.

         Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.

          At the same time, the existing speed limits on the above road sections will be temporarily rescinded.
