Temporary Traffic and Transport Arrangements on Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui, Sha Tin
Motorists are advised that
, in order to facilitate road resurfacing works, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented on
9, 10, 11, 12, 16, 17, 18, 19, 22, 23, 29 and 30 December 2025, and 6 and 7 January 2026:
I. From 10.00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 9 and 10 December 2025
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 380 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 500 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangement
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 380 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 500 metres north of the same junction will be converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
II. From 10.00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 11 and 12 December 2025
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 380 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 500 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangement
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 380 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 500 metres north of the same junction will be converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
III. From 10. 00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 16 and 17 December 2025
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 260 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 390 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangement
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 260 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 390 metres north of the same junction will be converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
- Banning of Turning Movement
All vehicles will be prohibited from turning right from Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound to Chek Nai Ping Village Refuse Collection Point.
- Traffic Diversion
Affected vehicles will be diverted via Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound, Tai Po Road – Tai Po Kau northbound, slip road leading to Tai Po Kau Garden, Tai Po Road – Tai Po Kau southbound and Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound.
IV. From 10.00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 18 and 19 December 2025
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 130 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 260 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangement
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 130 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 260 metres north of the same junction will be converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
- Temporary Transport Arrangement
The bus stop for KMB Routes Nos. 72, 72A, 73A, 74A and N.T. GMB Routes Nos. 28K and 28S (Sha Tin bound) on Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound near Chek Nai Ping will be relocated for about 130 metres northwards.
V. From 10.00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 22 and 23 December 2025
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 50 metres south of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 140 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangement
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 50 metres south of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 140 metres north of the same junction will be converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
- Temporary Transport Arrangement
The bus stop for KMB Routes Nos. 72, 72A, 73A, 74A and N.T. GMB Routes Nos. 28K and 28S (Tai Po bound) will be relocated for about 130 metres southwards.
VI. From 10.00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 29 and 30 December 2025
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 130 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 260 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangements
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 130 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 260 metres north of the same junction will be converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
- Temporary Transport Arrangement
The bus stop for KMB Routes Nos. 72, 72A, 73A, 74A and N.T. GMB Routes Nos. 28K and 28S (Sha Tin bound) on Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound near Chek Nai Ping will be relocated for about 130 metres northwards.
VII. From 10.00 pm to 6.00 am of the following day daily on 6 and 7 January 2026
- Traffic Lane Closure
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui northbound from a point about 260 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 390 metres north of the same junction will be closed to all vehicular traffic.
- Traffic Direction Arrangement
The section of Tai Po Road – Ma Liu Shui southbound from a point about 260 metres north of its junction with University Avenue to a point about 390 metres north of the same junction will be temporarily converted from two-lane two-way traffic into one-lane two-way traffic.
- Banning of Turning Movement

Appropriate traffic signs will be provided on site to guide motorists. Motorists are advised to follow the instructions on site and drive with utmost care.
