TRAFFIC ADVICE
Temporary Traffic Arrangements on Johnston Road, Wan Chai
Motorists are advised that, to facilitate the tram track renewal works, the following temporary traffic arrangements will be implemented during the time as specified below:-
From 10.00 am on 16 January 2026 to 10.00 am on 26 January 2026
(A) Lane Closure
1. Part of the traffic lane of Johnston Road eastbound near its junction with Luard Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic; and
2. Part of the traffic lane of Tai Wong Street East near its junction with Johnston Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.
(B) Banning of Turning Movement
All vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length will be banned from making a left turn from Tai Wong Street East to Johnston Road westbound.
(C) Traffic Diversion
1. Vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length from Tai Wong Street East heading to Johnston Road westbound will be diverted via Luard Road northbound, Lockhart Road westbound, Fenwick Street southbound and Hennessy Road westbound; and
2. Vehicles exceeding 8 metres in length from Tai Wong Street East heading to Ship Street southbound will be diverted via Luard Road northbound, Lockhart Road westbound, Fenwick Street southbound and Johnston Road eastbound.
From 10.00 am on 26 January 2026 to 10.00 am on 16 February 2026
(A) Lane Closure
Part of the traffic lane of Johnston Road eastbound near its junction with Luard Road will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic.
Appropriate traffic signs and road markings will be erected on site to guide motorists.
