Temporary Speed Limit on Fanling Highway, North District


In exercise of the powers vested in me under regulation 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 1 am to 5.30 am daily from 4 to 6 February 2026 and from 11 to 13 February 2026, the following road sections will be temporarily subject to the temporary speed limits below:

  1. the section of Fanling Highway (eastbound) from a point about 520 meters west of its junction with Pak Shek Au Interchange to a point about 20 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour;
  2. the section of Fanling Highway (eastbound) from a point about 20 metres west of its junction with Pak Shek Au Interchange to a point about 170 metres east of its junction with Kam Tsin Road Footbridge (near Ho Tung School) will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour; and
  3. the section of the slip road leading from Castle Peak Road – Chau Tau to Fanling Highway (eastbound) from its junction with Fanling Highway to a point about 140 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected to guide motorists.

At the same time, the existing speed limit of 100 kilometres per hour on the above section of road will be temporarily rescinded.
