Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements in Sha Tin for the Che Kung Festival 2026

        Notice is hereby given that the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Sha Tin for the Che Kung Festival 2026 during the Lunar New Year festive period:

        (I) ROAD CLOSURE

        (A) From 8.00 pm on 16 February 2026 to 8.00 pm on 22 February 2026, the following road sections will be temporarily closed to all vehicular traffic, except for emergency vehicles:

        (B) From 8.00 pm on 16 February 2026 to 8.00 pm on 22 February 2026, the following cycle tracks will be temporarily closed:

        During the closure of the above cycle tracks, cyclists are advised to use the cycle track along the northern riverside of Shing Mun River Channel between Lion Rock Tunnel Road and Shing Wan Road for commuting to/from Sha Tin.

        (II) BANNING OF TURNING MOVEMENT

        From 8.00 pm on 16 February 2026 to 8.00 pm on 22 February 2026, all vehicles, except for emergency vehicles, would be prohibited from:

        (IV) PUBLIC TRANSPORT ARRANGEMENTS

        (A) Suspension of Bus and Green Minibus (GMB) Stops

        During the above road closure, the following bus and GMB stops will be suspended:

        (B) Temporary Pick-up/Drop-off Arrangements for Taxis and Non-franchised Buses

        During the above road closure,

        (C) Strengthening of Public Transport Services

        During the Lunar New Year festive period, services of East Rail Line and Tuen Ma Line, and franchised bus and GMB to/from Tai Wai Station and Che Kung Temple Station will be strengthened to cater for passenger demand when necessary.

        (V) Suspension of Car Park

        (VI) CROWD CONTROL

        During the Lunar New Year festive period, one-way pedestrian flow will be implemented in the vicinity Che Kung Temple. Members of the public are advised to follow the designated pedestrian route to/from Che Kung Temple and to follow the instructions given by Police officers on site.

        (VII) ATTENTION AND APPEAL

        Appropriate traffic aids will be provided and Police officers will be stationed on site to guide pedestrians and motorists. Public transport operators will display notices to advise passengers of the above temporary public transport arrangements. Actual implementation of the road closure, traffic control and traffic diversions will be made by the Police at the time depending on the traffic and crowd conditions.

        Motorists are advised that strict enforcement including multiple ticketing and towing of illegally parked vehicles will be taken by the Police in the areas concerned.

        Due to the foreseeable busy traffic in Tai Wai area, members of the public are strongly advised to use public transport services to Che Kung Temple during the Lunar New Year festive period.
