Special Traffic and Transport Arrangements for the 2026 Lunar New Year Fair in Yuen Long


        Notice is hereby given that to facilitate the holding of the 2026 Yuen Long Lunar New Year Fair, the following special traffic and transport arrangements will be implemented in Yuen Long.

        (A) Road Closure

        (a) Keung Yip Street will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 9.00 a.m. on 7 February 2026 to 2.00 p.m. on 17 February 2026; and

        (b) The following roads will be closed to all vehicular traffic from 4.00 p.m. on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026:

  1. Hong Yip Street between Po Yip Street and Wang Yip Street East;
  2. Hi Yip Street;
  3. Wang Yip Street East;
  4. Wang Yip Street South between Wang Yip Street East and Kwong Yip Street;
  5. Slip road leading from Long Yip Street to Kwong Yip Street (except for franchised buses);
  6. Lay-bys on Po Yip Street (northbound) between Hong Yip Street and Keung Yip Street; and
  7. Hong Yip Street between Wang Yip Street East and Wang Yip Street West (intermittently closed depending on prevailing crowd and traffic conditions).

        (B) Traffic Diversion

        The section of Hong Yip Street between Po Yip Street and Yuen Long Kau Hui Road will be converted from two-way traffic to one-way eastbound traffic from 8.00 p.m. on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026. Motorists heading to One Regent Place are advised to travel via Po Yip Street, Hong Yip Street and Kwan Lok Lane.

        (C) Cycling Track Closure

        Cycling track in Keung Yip Street will be closed to all bicycles from 4.00 p.m. on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026.

        (D) Suspension of Parking Spaces

        (a) The parking spaces on Hong Yip Street, Wang Yip Street East between Wang Yip Street South and Hi Yip Street and Wang Yip Street South will be suspended from 4.00 p.m. on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026;


        (b) The parking spaces on the following roads will be suspended from 8.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. on the following day from 14 February 2026 to 16 February 2026:

  1. Fu Yip Street (except for franchised buses);
  2. Wang Lok Street (southbound);
  3. Po Yip Street;
  4. Wang Yip Street East between Hong Yip Street and Keung Yip Street;
  5. Wang Yip Street West (except for franchised buses); and
  6. Leung Yip Street (intermittently closed depending on prevailing crowd and traffic conditions);
        (c) Franchised bus parking spaces on Keung Yip Street will be suspended from 8.00 p.m. on 7 February 2026 to 8.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026; and


        (d) Franchised bus parking spaces on Fu Yip Street, Tak Yip Street and Wang Yip Street West will be suspended from 8.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. of the following day on 16 February 2026.

        (E) Temporary Taxi pick up/drop off point

        Temporary taxi pick-up/drop-off point will be designated on Wang Yip Street West outside Yuen Long Trade Centre or near lamppost FB3496 from 4.00 p.m. on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026.

        (F) Public Transport Arrangements

        (a) From the first departure on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026

  1. KMB Route 69 (Tin Shui Wai Town Centre bound) will be diverted via Tak Yip Street (eastbound) before resuming its original routeing. The bus stop at Tak Yip Street (southbound) near Hong Yip Street will be temporarily suspended; and
  2. The bus terminus of LWB Route E36A (both bounds) will be temporarily relocated from Tak Yip Street Bus Terminus to Tak Yip Street (eastbound) near Tak Yip Street Playground. Departures (Tung Chung (Yat Tung) bound) will be diverted via Tak Yip Street (eastbound) before resuming its original routeing. Departures (Tak Yip Street bound) will be diverted via Tak Yip Street (eastbound).
        (b) From the first to the last departure on 16 February 2026

  1. The bus terminus of KMB route no. 968X (Tak Yip Street bound) will be temporarily relocated from Tak Yip Street Bus Terminus to Tak Yip Street (eastbound) near Tak Yip Street Playground. Departures (Tak Yip Street bound) will be diverted via Tak Yip Street.
        (c) From 4.00 p.m to the last departure on 16 February 2026

  1. MTR bus route no. K66 (Tai Tong bound) will be diverted via Long Yip Street, Kwong Yip Street, Fo Yip Street, Wang Yip Street West, Fu Yip Street and Wang Lok Street before resuming its original routeing on its journey. A temporary bus stop will be set up at Wang Yip Street West.
        (d) From 4.00 p.m on 16 February 2026 to 7.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026

  1. Bus stop at One Regent Place of KMB route nos. 69, 268A and LWB routes nos. E36A and E36C (Tak Yip Street bound) will be temporarily suspended.

        (G) Temporary Franchised Bus Parking Spaces

        (a) The franchised bus parking spaces of KMB on Wang Yip Street East and Keung Yip Street will be temporarily relocated to Ma Wang Road (westbound) near Fuk Shun House and Shui Pin Wai Estate San Shui House from 8.00 p.m. on 7 February 2026 to 8.00 a.m. on 17 February 2026; and

        (b) The franchised bus parking spaces of KMB on Fu Yip Street, Tak Yip Street and Wang Yip Street West will be temporarily relocated to Wang Lee Street (southbound) and Wang Lok Street (southbound) from 8.00 p.m. to 8.00 a.m. of the following day on 16 February 2026.

        (H) Attention and Appeal

        Motorists are advised that strict enforcement on illegal parking, including multiple ticketing and towing, will be taken by the Police in the affected areas.

        Depending on the prevailing circumstances, other ad-hoc traffic control measures and public transport arrangements, including further closures of roads, traffic diversions, alterations or suspension of public transport services, may be adopted by the Police at short notice. The Transport Department would like to appeal to the public for their understanding and support for all the arrangements made as well as cooperation with the Police Officers on site.
