ROAD TRAFFIC ORDINANCE (CHAPTER 374)
TEMPORARY SPEED LIMITS ON NORTH LANTAU HIGHWAY

        In exercise of the powers vested in me under section 40(2)(a) of the Road Traffic Ordinance, Chapter 374, I hereby direct that with effect from 0.01 am to 5.30 am on 22, 23 and 24 May 2026 daily, the following road sections of North Lantau Highway will be temporarily subject to the speed limits as described below:

    1. the section of North Lantau Highway eastbound from a point about 1,600 metres west of its junction with the access road to Penny's Bay Highway to a point about 1,200 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour;
    2. the section of North Lantau Highway eastbound from a point about 1,200 metres west of its junction with the access road to Penny's Bay Highway to a point about 50 metres east of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour;
    3. the section of North Lantau Highway westbound from a point about 350 metres west of its junction with the access road to Penny's Bay Highway to a point about 650 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 80 kilometres per hour; and
    4. the section of North Lantau Highway westbound from a point about 650 metres west of its junction with the access road to Penny's Bay Highway to a point about 3,200 metres west of the same junction will be temporarily subject to a speed limit of 50 kilometres per hour.

Appropriate traffic signs will be erected on site to guide motorists.

At the same time, the existing speed limit on the above road section will be temporarily rescinded.
